759,000 new jobs in the last 7 Months

5.7% Unemployment (Lower than the average of the past 3 decades)

Strongest 1/4 of economic growth in the last 20 years
These are not made up numbers. Check AP news service and do a google news search. Because you wont hear it on the nightly news with Dan Rather be negative.

BUTTTTTTTTTTT the Democrats want you to beleive that the economy is tanking, there are no new jobs and the unemployment rate is rising to record levels not seen since the great depression.

Must be sad to want the economy to go bad just so your boy can win.

All you have to do is go into Costco on a Saturday to see how bad the recession really is. It takes 30-45 minutes to check out and the average bill there is $200-300+. This seems like a simple analysis with nothing to back it up, but think about it. A lot of people are out spending money and lot of it. Also, the stock market is certainly not hurting. Also, people are still buying $4 lattes and $30 cigars.

Same here in Louisville. Restaurant parking lots are full every night of the week. Mall parking lots are full all day long. The builders are are building condos and patio homes as fast as land can be zoned for it. Traffic is horrible everywhere. Those are signs of a pretty good economy if you ask me.

When it comes to economics I'm a realist, it's one of the few things the politicians can't spin on me.

This is one of my favorite sources:

This latest jobs upswing, like the economy in general, is a short term rise. However, I will say that I don't think we would be doing as well as we are if it weren't for the tax breaks. But this too is short term and we will pay for these tax cuts for a very very long time, if they don't absolutely ruin, due to the tremendous debt, our economy.

I wish just one of those 8 million jobless people had experience working on CCTV and access control equipment and lived in South Alabama or the Northwest Florida.

Some of my friends at work are unemployed. They still get paid, though.

The government's methodolgy for determining unemployment figures is as stupid as my opening sentence. Since the current official unemployment figure is as low as it was in the 90's, the party that is out can always cite the millions of unemployed in their campaign ads.

There are always millions unemployed. You can blame it on automation, outsourcing, illegal immigrants, and the other political party. If you're a Nazi, blame the Jews. If you're a socialist, blame corporate Amerika.

I believe in placing the blame where it belongs: on Rickamaven and Xibbumbero.

I'll give you an example of the unemployed. I have a relative. Let's just say for the sake of argument that he's my little brother. He's made a career out of unemployment. Works enough to get his benefits then finds some way to milk the system. He likes being "off" during the hunting season.

When he works it's primarily in the construction business in PA. It's easy to be layed off for the winter when work slows down. Rather than take a minimum wage job, he collects unemployment and stays home.

My dad did the same thing most of his life. He was an iron worker. He worked on pipelines and nuke plants, bridges and refineries. When he got older he hated working in the cold. He'd work from spring through fall and then be "layed off". He made great money as a welder and worked overtime most of the time. He could have banked enough money to live through the winter but hey if uncle sam will throw you a check why not stay home during the winter and collect it.

It's not that uncommon.
