while researching the book "take them at their words" for some quotes from ann coulter, i discovered names and quotes from people i never heard of. i'm familiar with the likes of bob dornan, pat robertson, jerry falwell, rush, but michael savage, bob grant, rollye james are new to me.

i will post the quotes from coulter, but i owe her an apology. she is tame in comparision with these new names i have discovered. these new people i have read quotes from are insane.

with apologies to a tamer then i thought, ann coulter
-----------------------------------------------
"in this recurring nightmare of a presidency, we have a national debate whether he "did it" even though all sentient people know he did. otherwise there would be debates only about whether to impeach of assassinate" coulter refering to clinton 1998.
----------------------------------------------------
"my only regret with timothy mcveigh is that he did not go to th new yok times building." coulter 8/26/02
-------------------------------------------------
"god said earth is yours. take it. rape it. it's yours." coulter 6/20/01
------------------------------------------------
"at the very least i could get him to spend it all (his campaign funds) so the next person who runs against him might be able to actually win. i really want to hurt him. i want him to feel pain"
coulter talking about running for congress agains rep shays (r-ct) to punish him for voting against clinton's impeachment. 6/25/99

"clinton mastubates in the sinks" coulter 8/2/99

Defending Bush, she decides to smear Max Cleland
"Cleland lost three limbs in an accident during a routine noncombat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends. He saw a grenade on the ground and picked it up...Luckily for Cleland's political career and current pomposity about Bush, he happened to do it while in Vietnam."

This is a nasty smear-- the grenade that exploded had been set off by another soldier in a training exercise.

And Coulter's nasty innuendo-- let's see the proof Ann-- ignores the fact that Cleland had won the Bronze and Silver Star before the explosion. Here is the language from Cleland's Silver Star award:

Action: For gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed
hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. Captain Cleland distinguished himself by exceptionally
valorous action on 4 April 1968, while serving as communications officer of the 2nd Battalion, 12th
Calvary during an enemy attack near Khe Sanh, Republic of Vietnam.

"When the battalion command post came under a heavy enemy rocket and mortar attack, Capt. Cleland, disregarding his own safety, exposed himself to the rocket barrage as he left his covered position to administer first aid to his wounded comrades. He then assisted in moving the injured personnel to covered positions.

So Bush plays hooky from his easy duty in the National Guard, while the rightwing defends him by resmearing a man who lost three limbs to the Vietnam War.

Have you no shame, Ms. Coulter?

and one quote from rollye james

"i don't think that i'm going to be able to cause anybody to take out bill clinton. but if i can, i hope their aim is good and i hope that bullet passes through al gore first. and if you want a trifecta, take hillary too." 10/15/96

but, rick, that can't be true! it's BAD to talk about wanting the president to die, much less wishing assassination upon him!

isn't it just the liberals who say bad bad things about presidents? coz i keep hearing conservatives say that we should honor the office of the president enough to refrain from saying bad bad things about the person in that position.

if you must respect the president, wouldn't it be a bad bad thing to want him, the vice president and the first lady to be murdered?
