Next week I'll be running over to Monterey CA for a few days. The wife is attending a meeting and I'll have more than a few hours a day to kill.

Anyone familiar with the area have any cigar bar/ smoke shop suggestions? (Have they enacted any new anti herf laws there?)

rayder,

Sorry man, didn't see this until I read sketchas post. Theres a nice shop at 423 Alvarado Street called Hellams Tobacco ph831.373.2816 Nice selection. Can't remember if you can fire them up there, but Im pretty sure the guy behind the counter was smokin an AF last time. There is another called Fat Cat Cigars on Canery Row, but all they sell is, imho, their own over priced brand. Last I was there you could smoke what you purchsed in the shop.

I already finished my trip when I read the response. Thanks though. I stumbled across Hellams. That guy takes care of his cigars. He told me to dig a little because the ones on the bottom had some nice plume. He wasn't kidding.

I picked up a CAO Brazilia (no plume) and a well aged AVO maduro.

Beautiful, warm days there last week. Smoked the cigars on a bench overlooking the marina.
