Every peacetime involves decommissioning, DUH!!

And of course this crap that the RDC passes for information doesn't account for equipment that was getting old or replacements... DUH again!!

Example.. the USS Missouri was decommissioned in this period. Do we need battleships in naval warfare any more?? After all their prime period of viability was back in World War One...

Yes things get old and break, but Clinton saw to it that budgets were slashed so no new parts were available to fix planes, ships, etc.

I suggest you check your facts before lashing out.

dbguru... ever been in the service? I have been in for almost 17 years. Unfortunately, Bill f**king Clinton was my Commander in Chief for 8 of them.

Downsizing mean anything to you? Bill wanted to call it "rightsizing" but look at what it has done for us. There is nothing right about it. Early outs, early retirements, smaller budget to buy parts... RDC is dead on balls accurate. That's an industry term.
