Yes, I do have to admit, they are good.

And yes it is true that we are sitting at the CI retail store enjoying an array of fine foods like rice krispy treats, Guinness, cappucinos and some damn fine cigars.

Hey, can you blame us? We have a monster thunderstorm rolling through town and the streets are dead...

I've never seen metallica, but let me set the scene for one of my favorite shows ever...AC/DC I was in the second row, so close I could feel the fire from the fireworks on the stage. They are about six songs into their set and my wife and I are wondering why the four seats in front of us are still empty. My questioned was answered when James, Lars, Kirk and a friend of theirs showed up and partied the night away. Watching AC/DC, partying with Metallica, one of the highlights of my life

That's pretty cool. Steve O might get up close and personal with Lars and James if Keith decides to throw him up on stage.

Damn, still raining and I think I crashed googles picture section of their site! Uggghhhh.

Likewise...Saw them with Cliff Burton and they wailed. Saw them later on with Jason Newsted and it wasn't the same band. I'm not knocking Jason, because he's an accomplished basssist. I'm just knocking the music that they put out together...it didn't contain the same vitality that the earlier ones with Cliff did.

Then when Lars stepped out from the cans to rip on Napster users and become a viable fighting force with the RIAA...I won't put another slim dime in their money-grubbing pockets! Didn't this bands hallmark used to be a recording section for bootleg recording of their live shows? Then they want to strip that away and charge you for it! They should change their name to Greedica.

Last show i saw was about 10 years ago in albuquerque...

Rob Halford and his "Fight" band opened...

then Suicidal Tendencies...

followed by Candlebox...

then Metallica...

Was a good show back then...dont really like them now...and really cant get into their newer stuff (black album was the last good one in my opinion)...

Guys? When you get there... if you do get the chance to speak to Lars, James and Kirk...

ASK THEM WTF SAINT ANGER WAS ALL ABOUT!!!

THE most Craptacular product EVER put out by a great band. To say it sucked would be an insult to vacuums everywhere.

I have METALLICA tattooed on my left shoulder (Taken from the "Kill 'Em All" album) and every other CD they ever put out except THAT one. So I AM a fan. But OMG did that album blow the hugest chunks. I was VERY pissed. So much so that I gave that stupid album away and then felt bad for the person I gave it to.

Who's next on the soapbox?

I guess i'll have to correct myself then. Since Fan is short for fanatic, I am no longer a fan. That album sucked. Plain and simple. I did not let my love of their prior music blind me to the fact that the last album was downright horrible.

So I guess you're absolutely correct.

DMV - I liked them better with Cliff also, but I have to admit, seeing Jason sing Seek And Destroy at Woodstock was a blast. . . . .
