Welcome to my meat-headed world! Seriously, when I wear my cd player in the gym, I go into a different world. A world where I don't waste my time talking with gym rats. A world where I get all of the day's aggressions out plus exercise some past emotional demons.

This is all done with a minimal amount of grunting and screaming or dropping the damn weights.....if you can't control the weight and have to slam it on the ground, then you need to go lighter! Oh yea....PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF!

I HATE working out without my cd player.......are any of you who workout the same way?

1(tie) - "In The Air Tonight" (Phil Collins)
"Black" (Sevendust)
2 - "You've Got Another Thing Coming" (Judas Priest)
3 - "Fuel" Metallica
4 - "Re-Align" (Godsmack)
5 - "I Stand Alone" (Godsmack)
6 - "Wasting My Hate" (Metallica)
7 - "Prince Charming" (Metallica)
8 - "Hierate Mich" (Rammstein)
9 - "Du Hast - German version" (Rammstein)
10 - "Weathered" (Creed)

What are your favorites?

THANK YOU!!!!! I absolutely HATE those who break these rules. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I especially love it now that the gym is packed, people are working out for a week or two to look good for the summer. Yea, that'll work... Every year, sigh.

Oh, about the music, along your lines (actually even heavier). I can't do the personal player, kept forgetting I had it and broke them, so now just whatever the gym has playing. Sometimes good, sometimes not. When I win the lottery though and make my own gym....

I don't listen to a walkman while lifting but I do listen to it during cardio like on the bike or eliptical.

I think its interesting Sonny that you've got a pretty metal based songlist yet a very mellow Phil Collins song is at the top. Is that the song you warm up to?

My music is very hard and aggressive something that I can really get moving to. Bands like Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Static-X, Vio-lence, older Slayer. But sometimes I like to listen to not as heavy stuff like Helloween, WASP, Scorpians and the like.

Rammstein is an AWESOME band to work out to. They have the agressive style but the techno side kind of synchs everything together when I'm biking. I really like Fire Feigh off Mutter. That isn't how you spell it but its a cool tune. They played it at the beginning of the XXX movie.

I usually work out to techno (Chemical Bros, Crystal Method, etc..). I find that it keeps me going quite well and I don't focus on song lyrics but on my workout...

Wow plabonte, you mentioned older Slayer. I was starting to think I was the only one who remembered (and still like) that stuff (have the "Soundtrack To The Apocalypse" keyed up on my computer now, some good 'oldies' on it)!

Newer stuff I prefer while working out (anytime really): Korn, (older) Metallica, Rob/White Zombie, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Pantera. Good stuff to get the heart going!

fire frei is an awesome tune.....have that one in my cd pack as well. The Phil Collins song is a bit off track, but it has some sentimental value. My band du jour is Sevendust (I have the Broken CD and a mix cd in my cd pack also). They take it mellow one minute and blow your head off the next.

Crystal Method is a very strong workout band specifically the Vegas cd (of course Busy Child's the best track). Wore my Vegas cd out damn near.

You are right though, plabonte, Rammstein has that techno-metal sound down. Their live show is absolutely crazy.....bunch of pyro effects.....but, they get a bit over the top sometimes.

THL-Live at the Fillmore east...good call. Easily one of my most listened to albums. I wanted them to play whipping post for my wedding march, but for some reason my wife had reservations :)

Yep I'm a big Crystal Method fan also. Although I wasn't to crazy about their latest album. Its kind of blah.

Busy Child and Trip like I do (well the second half of it when it really starts to kick in. Not so much the intro with samples from the movie "The Dark Crystal") are my favorites off Vegas.

Metalhead... checking in.

Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Creed, Tool, Aerosmith, Scorpions, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Megadeth, Ozzy, Van HALEN (not Hagar) etc.

I also have softer stuff. Motown, Elton John, R Kelly, to name a few.

Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, Stevie Nicks, the list goes on and on.
