Everyone seems to be griping about the cost of gas. Some are proposing a 1 day boycott. But are you really making an effort to use less?

I'm not. I still drive my van to work and on weekends to run errands. I drove to PA for the cigarfest (by myself) plus racked up a couple of hundred extra miles while in PA visiting family. I guess until the cost of gasoline starts changing driving habits, it really isn't a problem.

I'm using my motorcycle so much more and enjoying it a great deal. Especially when I get around 38 MPG!

I sure won't consider buying an SUV unless its some kind of hybrid powered vehicle. Trying to use my legs a lot more. I've dusted the bike too and used it on a couple of short errands.

Deja Vu the early 70's are revisiting us (Except for some revival of all that great classic rock coming from those years)

I still drive the same amount, but i have slowed down from 70 to 60 or 65 at the most. I'm a little easier on the take off from a red light. In doing this I have noticed a difference in gas mileage of about 40 miles per tank full without affecting travel time too much.

Then again I'm a cheapskate and have been driving the same car since 1990. I love not having a car payment. If I could ride the bus and get to work I would.

Traded in my 2001 Lincoln Nagigator for a 2004 Ford F-150 Supercrew Lariat.

I've lived overseas and this my friends isn't even CLOSE to what I had to buy gas for!

Yes,
I have been making fewer trips, and making them count more. I live in a rural area, and going to town is not like running down to the corner store. I tend to do all of my errands on one day of the week, and in one trip, instead of whenever I need something. I also have been relying on the little country store, about a mile from my house, for the little things.
But with fuel prices through the roof, it is only a matter of time that everything is going to go up.

How about changing the rust in the tail pipes and the mouse traps in the air filters
Just kidding Rick, I only have 59,000 on the 87 T bird

I purchased a 1996 Acura Integra SE in February 96 and as of today I have 9,971 miles on it (I hope to break 10,000 sometime this year). I buy gas maybe 3 or 4 times a year when I get lower than half a tank. LOL JonR

Well, let's see...

I bought a 25-foot travel trailer and a Chevy Suburban to tow it. My family will go to the lake at least 3 more times this year than last year because the new camper is easier to use, and we're planning trips farther from home.

Overall I'm probably using more gas now than last year.

As for high gas prices, "this, too shall pass."

I need to get a superchip on my '98 Blazer. That should help with my MPG. Maybe I will even break 20 MPG.

Not my wife. She goes out Monday and buys a new Yukon XL. This friggin thing is so big that we literally have two inches of clearance to close the garage door.

I can only imagine how much money we are going to be spending at the gas station.

My Ferrari 355 Spider gets 10 mpg on average, but why do i care?????I rich!!!BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

Seriously, my wife drives an Expedition with a 5.4 Liter and towing package and only gets around 17 mpg highway max., but she's never really been a lead foot so nothing to change there. I drive a SAAB 9-3 and get 30+ mpg, so no problem there.

BTW, how do you like the Audi? I'm beginning to really dig them. Only problem is I'm large (6'3"-275#) and the A4 seems like it may be smaller than my SAAB. SAABs are really kind to tall people, but not necessarily the horizontally challenged;)

Yep changed my driving habits a bit since the prices on petro have increased... just the other day it was an argument with a peace officer over how much of the sidewalk I could actually cover before getting a ticket for illegal lane usage.. I had to call the IDOT to make sure they cleared the debrie off the shoulders so I could get to wal-mart and back on a 1/4 tank and still make it to work the next day... took part of the siding off the back of the garage and duck taped it to the hood of the truck as a wind deflector to reduce the draft so yea I'm doin my part to curve the rising price of petro... Hell I even just sit in the truck in the driveway and dream about the trip I was going to take...(kinda like eating peanut butter and jelly but knowing it was a 16 oz T-Bone)
