I love our forums basic look, but really want some more added to it. Heck I would be willing to help pay for it open a TIP JAR and I think people would chip in, just an idea. I know we have talked about this before but never hurts to bring it back.

Kind of like a custom signature thing, a public profile page and a "click here to read new posts" button? :)

The basic forums are nice and simple, but maybe some of these features would be good.

The Cigarbid forums are unique ... and if it ain't broke ... don't fix it, I say ...

Next thing you know ... CB will take on the format of every other forum on the internet, and there goes it's simple but special identity.

I enjoy this forum's simplicity. I dont read the other cigar forums much because I cant stand the one sentence posts and then 3 paragraphs worth of animated smileys and signature lines. Stuff like that only clutters up the screen. As long as any updates didnt include fluff like that, I'm all for it.

I am joining fellow conservatives Slimboli and puskarich in voting to keep things the way they are.

The simplicity is why I am here. It would be nice however to see when a thread was first posted and when the latest post was. Thats the only change I would make.

Well, I kinda like how the other joints got all those smiley features and what-not. Makes it kinda cool. The sigs, the profiles, the PM features... I like 'em.

In fact, I spend more time there now than here. As do a lot of other folks from here, I have noticed.

Didn't somebody mention that a lot of FOG's from here now only post elsewhere?

I'll still come here though.

MACS(SW) --- I can assure you that it was not the forums format that drove away many of the former members who use to post here ...

I like it simple like it is. Only thing I would change is to add a spell checker.

Never said it was slim. I have just noticed that a lot of people who start here, wind up somewhere else for some reason.

They still make purchases here. They'd be crazy not to, but I have read some posts in other forums stating they only come here to buy now. Just making an observation is all. Not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers.

People participate at other forums because of the openness of member sponsored forums, and the amount of activity that goes on. One cigar forum I frequent averages 25,000 hits a day and 800 new posts. If you spend an hour at that on-line forum, you're certain to read some new posts. And, of course, the trade board is very active.

The CBid cigar forum has some very slow days. One day this past week there were less than 25 new posts over a several hour period. I didn't tabulate the miscellaneous forum, so it may have had more activity.
