Read a lengthly biographical piece on him a few years ago--fascinating story. Sad end to a great life. God bless Nancy Reagan and the USA.

I know A&E was running a biography of him awhile back and that will probably be back on in the coming days.. well worth watching and recording from childhood to whitehouse and beyond...

I will miss him also... as Macs said he was also my Commander ~N~ Chief when I joined also...

God Bless his Family and Prayers out to them...

The first President I was able to vote for was Reagan. I was in the Army. I saw what a great man he was.

God...if you want to take a day off now...you got your man!

Thank you President Reagan for everything.

maybe instead of having a cigar in his memory, I'll wander on down to the grocery store and buy some jelly beans

May he rest in peace. I understand how Nancy felt during his illness. My Mother who lives with me has Alzheimer's. His suffering is over and so is Nancys.

He was a carismatic president, but not worthy of Mount Rushmore.

Can anyone younger than 40 appreciate how messed up this country was in 1980? Home interest rate of 14%+, double digit inflation, Soviet hegemony in Europe, central america, asia...highest income tax bracket of 70%...in law school, my tax course was wholly preoccupied with tax shelter law...people hiding capital in money-losing investments just for the tax relief...He changed all that with the force of his ideas and the bully pulpit. Wow.

when Clive and I found out about the passing of President Reagan we turned on Fox news and heard from many who worked with him, knew him and the stories they shared brought the real man behind the president out. My heart has gone out to Nancy throughout the years that she has had to care for him, the strength she possessed to do it for 10 years boggles my mind. The love she had for him is the kind of love we all want and hope for. They are both at peace now.

Ronald Regan was the first man I ever voted for for President. Both times. I never had any regrets! I enlisted in November of '92, right before the last of the dignity he left the Oval Office was dragged through the mud by hypocrites who didn't think anything of driving military people out of the service for fraternizing with subordinates, and we KNOW what they (he) was up to! Reagan would not even take off his suitcoat in the Oval Office, because he thought that would be disrespectful to that office itself! He was a man who cared little for the details, just the big picture, and realized that IDEAS were more powerful than mere words. And he was known as the great communicator because he knew how to share those ideas with us, and the world, and the world was forever changed by them.
