Its a new technology that Toyota is test marketing. From what I have been told, these cars are actually assembled on the docks as they come over in parts. They snap them together based on orders placed. Kinda scary to think about ridin around in a snap together car while large SUV's are on the road.

You mean it's a REAL car???? I thought it was some sick joke that a drunken auto executive was playing on people who don't have money to buy real cars. Hmm.

Joke or not it has to be one of, if not THE, ugliest vehicles on the road.

so i gather no one has any personal knowledge of the scion.

it's a shame. toby just bought one of these uglyestest car in the world, after i did a ton of research about the car.

we took one for a test drive and found it to be a snappy little bugger, that steers like a sports car because of power assist rack and pinion stearing. the seats are like chairs instead of car seats and are very comfortable. it also has he same step down design the 50's hudson hornet had.

$17,000 including t & l out the door.

i do appreiate all the opinions about how the car rides from you all, basd on personal experience

Saw a Scion yesterday on the way home from work ... uglyestest is a pretty fair description but Rick's description of the seats compels me to check them out in person ...

As for the step down design, I was never able to discern the difference between the Hudson Hornet and the Hudson Wasp and will disqualify myself from judging ...

the wasp, car wise, not the little flying bug, was a stepped down hornet. a little less power, slightly cheaper carpets, and like many of todays cheap compact cars, just enough differene in appearance so that people will know you bought the cheaper edition.

ford put out one like that a few years ago. i think it only had the matting that goes under the carpet and not the carpet itself, duct tape on the steering wheel instead of a cover, and one sun visor. that doesn't mean there was something wrong with the car itself, but since most new car purchases are based on whether you get hot pants from the car's appearance, the cheaper ones must be for eunuchs.

take one for a test drive, the scion, not the hudson hornet, when you have no interst in buying a car. you can appraise the car better when your pants are not getting too tight.
