Ok, UPS somehow didn't deliver my cbid shipment yesterday. . . . the tracking number show that it left the local office on the truck Friday 7:00 am, to be delivered during the day Friday. . . . . it never showed up, and the tracking number hasn't been updated since then. . . . I would assume the driver overlooked the package (or maybe it was loaded on the wrong truck). . . no prob, we're all human, I can understand. . . . but does anyone know when I can expect delivery? Do they deliver weekends? How about Monday the 5th? USPS is closed for the holiday Monday, so would UPS also be? I'm getting a feeling it may not be until Tuesday until they show up :(

mine wasn't delivered either and I got a note saying that the next delivery was on the 6th. I called them up and said that it was slightly perishable and asked if I could pick it up. The lady was really cool saying that I could come by after work, around 9:45 and get it. This is now the second time in a row that I have had to get my cigars from UPS, but they are so helpful and they bring such happiness thats its hard to get mad at them.

Lukin, you had better luck than me. . . .I just called the 800 number and asked if I could pick it up locally, as letting them sit in a possible high humidity environment until Tuesday could be damaging. . . . they said the package is lost, and are trying to contact CI for "more information". . . .

A lost shipment of mine went to the neighbors a block up from me. They called CI and they in turn called me and informed me where it was.

lost in a set of small fires :)

Maybe next time you'll trust the company you work for and make a switch. Good luck. There is nothing worse than being all geeked out about a shipment of smokes and then worrying that you may never see them again.

Good luck with UPS.
They are pretty much useless in cases like this.
UPS only delivers on saturday, if saturday delivery is specified, which costs extra money.
Which is one reason I have mine sent USPS Priority.

If UPS would take their lead from CBid/CI's customer service, they would have more business than they know what to do with. But their customer service is pretty much a joke.

Since we're on the subject of shipping, this new DHL delivery service is by far the worst of the bunch.
They lose packages, return them to sender for no reason and when they say they are going to deliver between specified times, attempt delivery either before or after the times they say.

My regular Friday delivery didn't happen either. "TJ" at CBid didn't have any answer except call back Tuesday...It seems really strange that so many are having problems with this weeks delivery. "TJ" had no tracking number for my order, and I suspect the shipment never left Bethlehem, Pa. At least I hope now it didn't! I hate to think of those poor orphan cigars all by themselves in some UPS warehouse for 4 days...Trish where are you? Help!

kornazoo,
Didn't you get an e-mail with the shipping info?

I always get an e-mail from CI/Cbid when my stuff ships and it always has the tracking info in the e-mail.

I have seen several times where something has shipped by UPS and it sits in one depot for 2 or 3 days. Pretty irritating. I think UPS is using the holiday weekend as an excuse to be lazy.

Lukin, I guess that's karma :( You would think a guy with the word postmaster in his job title would know better. . . . I guess I've just been too lazy to contact Cbid to change my shipping preference. . . bad seth gekko!!

kornazoo,
Do you have it set up to send USPS priority or UPS?
They used to send me the UPS tracking number, I thought until I went with USPS priority, now I get a confirmation number for USPS.
But one way to find out if it was shipped USPS or UPS is to click on Login up above,
then login,
then click on Bids Won.
Above the bids you won, there will be an Order Cofnirmation, to the right of that, it will say View Invoice, then the date shipped, then the tracking link.
click on the tracking link. If it opens USPS site, then it is going USPS priority. If it opens UPS site, then it is going UPS and the link was the tracking number. If it says a date shipped, it will have the tracking number right there for you to track.
Not sure why the customer service person couldn't tell you that.

sometimes i get a shipment on tuesday, sometimes on fridays.

does it really matter? no. stop wasting energy worrying about the shipment date.

worry is interest paid on a debt you don't have.

smoke em after they arrive.

Rick,
Easy big fella, LOL!
I can totally understand kornazoo's plight.
Half the time when I am waiting on a shipment of cigars, I get a little anxious waiting for them, but then again I have "zero patience". LOL!

And also remember that there are some folks, like my nephew, who order cigars when they are down to just a few. So they get worried when they don't show up.
Plus, in his case, he doesn't have the money to have them lost and wait to get reimbursed. Remember, not all folks are in the same situation.

To them, it matters. Alot.
Is it worth it to worry about? Probably not, but to them it is. Plus alot of the youmger guys HAVE the energy to waste. LOL!

Thanks Opatence....My concern was due to the holiday weekend, that my usual delivery was sitting somewhere for 4 days or so, and my other concern was "TJ" was clueless on if it had been shipped...I have plenty of cigars to smoke...and a word to RICKMAVEN...are you LOST? Don't you usually fill up Cyberspace w/ pictures of birds? Tim aka Kornazoo

"RICKMAVEN"....Maven is a Yiddish word for "connoisseur", or a person who "discerns quality."....What in the world does that have to do w/ this posting? Except the NEW RICKMAVEN definition..."One who loves the sound of his own voice".........Tim aka Kornazoo....

it also means "a really knowledgeable person."

in this case it means, don't sweat the small stuff.
