Yo cmuzz:

I'm not, but I know someone who lives in Camden N.J., does that count?

I live on another planet, but might have to move soon. The commute is killing me.

Let me give a non-goofy reply.

I live on Guam, "Where America's day begins."

Not a state, but definitely America!

July 21st is the biggest holiday here, it is Liberation Day. On July 21, 1944, US troops returned to Guam, hence Liberation Day. There is a big parade every year, fireworks, and since this year is the 60th anniversary, there are a large number of veterans from the 1944 landings here on island to participate in the celebration.

It all helps to remind what America should be about.

GU

i was staioned on guam from mid 53 to late 54. i still have jungle rot.

i was there the day the first tap beer was sold in agana.

there were slugs in the water that the japanese grew for food.

we used to shark fish from some cliff.

i was there when we had a hurricane that dropped so much water it covered the wheels of a b-29 in 24 hours.

i'm sure you are a wonderful person, but guam is one of the few places on earth i cannot consider a vacation paradise.

RICKAMAVEN,

I have new respect for you.

You were really on Guam way back then?

My wife and I have been here since 1976, teaching, and we are finding it hard to leave.

My buddy Paul is the Leading Chief Petty Officer for the security detachment there on Guam. And he loves smokin' cigars too...
