I guess not, they blew his bid completely away. NOTHING TO SEE NOW.

i didn't see what was there before -- enlighten us?

i'm grateful to have won 2 of the 3 lots i bid on -- these were, indeed, buys for the troops (through OpFTH), and i indicated so in my comments line. these were not high-end or sought-after sticks, though, so it's possible that i snagged them just by being the highest bidder (i.e., no one else wanted to shell out a whole $3-5 for these). lol

rest assured that if i put "for troops OPFTH" on a comment, i mean it -- i'm trying to get that particular fiver to send out through OpFTH to the guys in fallujah. i hope that folks who would do likewise also mean it and aren't just trying to grab a deal for themselves.

Hey gang....

Can you fill me in on how to send cigars to our troops? I dont have a bunch but I'd like to send 20+ cigars out. Is there someone putting together a package?

email me at charlesaf1 at msn dot com

I am sending a package to my newphew, who is in Baghdad and deploying around the Sunni Triangle, and he will disperse them among his guys and members! Cannot say what division he is in!

sylance, if you have any left over after helping charlie's nephew (and good on you, charlie, for that!), Operation From The Heart has a new web site -- www.opfth.org. check out the pics of the troops and the guestbook too. :)

these guys will be coming home soon!! but we'll be sending packages over until 1 september, and after that we will be acquiring new troop targets.

Not that I bid on that much, but I will watch for this in the future...
I would willingly let some smokes go for that endeavor.

tpottiger -- what would really be helpful (for OpFTH anyway) are letters of support to send over. donations of things like jerky, snacks, SOCKS, bandanas, etc. are also very, very welcome. these guys wear the same sweat-and-sand-encrusted clothes for days at a time, and clean, dry socks are very much needed -- you get some very dirty feet quickly sitting in a Light Armored Vehicle for six hour patrols in 125+ degree weather. :/ anyway, sorry for the threadjack here -- but sending cigars isn't the only way to donate. :)

The note that was on the bid said," Sending to the Troops" and the bid was for all 3 boxes. It seems his limit was $10 a box. Apparently others wanted them more and chose not to believe the note.
