Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing UN resolutions against Iraq.

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense.

A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness, and you need our prayers for your recovery.

You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

Feel free to pass this on.

Friends don't let friends vote Republican.

Nobody ever said Saddam was a good guy, just someone to counter-balance Iran.

Gee, trade with China has brought them to allow private property, a very Capitalist notion. Maybe they're changing because of trade? Castro has no interest in changing. How many of his own people did he kill, but you think he's swell?

We had to go through the UN because people like whine so much if we don't.

Abortion, just when does that worthless polliwog in there trasnmute into a person? Upon birth, really? Doesn't government tell a woman she can't kill people with her hands, speed her body down the street in a car? What is this speciousness?

Wow, who said all Repubs hate Gays? Kinda broad isn't it?

Ah, condoms, our children are no higher developed than minks, no self control, lets enable them rather than teach them.

The Frrench and Russians take billions from Saddam to keep him in power. They violate the UN sanctions they voted for. These are Allies? We need the UN for this? We ned the French to validate our efforts to defend ourselves? Really?

WOW, without creationism, please give me a scientifically provable history of creation, otherwise you are living with superstition and faith, the same things you ridicule others for.

Enough of arguing with the uneducated.

Allies in deed!

The french and the russians apparently couldn’t get enough lucre in the oil for food scam. They also sold weapons and ammunition to Iraq during the embargo. Our soldiers found french made tanks Iraq. french ‘man portable’ surface to air missiles were used to shoot down our helicopters in Iraq.

In my opinion, being "uneducated" & having "hate in his heart" are two things that are not applicable to Mr. Rickamaven.

Being bizarre, eclectic, and overall (fiercely) independent are some attributes that may apply though...

What Rick said is probably pretty true. And whatever someone counters with regarding what you have to believe to be a Democrat would probably be pretty true as well. What is ridiculous to me is when people on either side think scathing criticisms of their position are unwarranted, meanspiritied, or otherwise disqualified from being true. Politics and politicians pretty much suck...that's the nature of the beast at least at the national level....probably mostly at the state level as well.

But all of you keep thinking that the way you make fun of the "other guys" is more accurate than the way they make fun of you. You are just wasting your breath like I am.

true, true.

"You are just wasting your breath like I am."

also true, but it is too hot outside to sit, there are no forensic files on until later, and the room is air conditioned.

Great post Rick. Very nice rebuttal to the How to be a good Dem post.

BillyJ- You did a great job of pointing out the hypochritical nature of most of the political posts and discussions on this board.... from both sides.

You forgot one Rick,
That facism, is a liberal thought, close to communism, and has nothing to do with conservatism.

Nice cut and paste job, Rick.

I saw the same post on another cigar bulletin board about two weeks ago.

The Liberal Propaganda/Spin Machine is alive and well, thanks to Rick.

Wow, imagine that. There is a Liberal Propaganda/Spin Machine as well as a Conservative Propaganda/Spin Machine. Who would have thought that both parties would partake in "spin control".

ok, why does someone always bring up "hate towards sweet GW" when someone points out his short-comings?
So, are we to assume that because we disagree with the current administration and voice it, that we are hate-mongers?

Gotta love the peaceful-God-fearing top 1% of this nation!

Ahhhh.....to lead a bunch of Jackasses around without a rope....fun isn't it my Republican bottom feaders?!

If you disagree with John Kerry on any one point, just wait till he is in front of a different audience and he will reverse that point and then you can agree with him! LMAO

The left's party line changed from unabashed "hatred" into a "disagreement on the issues" after the elegant John Edwards joined the ticket and polls showed that folks of every stripe liked him more than the charmless, hateful Kerry. What will the Dems do with attack dogs like Max Cleland now, I wonder? We should be glad to see that Mr. Rickmaven's venacular is current with his party's ever-changing charade.
