I couldn't believe that this would be something that anyone would bid on...cigars with broken feet, peeled wrappers, etc. and no itemization. Have mercy! Steve

Steve - On your recommendation I "won" a package of Sportsman's Reserve. Tried one today. Not bad, but nothing special. Good call for $1.40 each. I'd compare it to a 5 Vegas taste wise. Wrapper looks like a Cupido. You got your pack yet?

pd: Mine are tracked to arrive tomorrow. I've got some 5 Vegas I'm not thrilled with, so I hope they aren't too close to them in taste; a touch too mild. I smoke one occasionally, but bought them as moochers. I really hoped that the Sportsmans were the same cigar as the La Vieja Habanos with a different wrapper. I paid $40 for a bundle of 20 short bellicosos from the Chicago "Royalty" and $45 for 6 by 50 torpedos. He still has larger sizes and I may pick up a few. I've gotten to expect quality from Nick Perdomo, so I hope these are nice. They certainly were cheap. Steve

The Sportsman's arrived about 10 minutes ago. I'm surprised that they were sold as boxed goods. These are celloed bundles. They have nothing in common with the LaVieja Habano brand that Jonathan Drew had Nick Perdomo make. I wonder if this collaboration was with Nick Sr. I haven't smoked one so I will reserve judgment, but they feel severely underfilled to the hand. The wrapper is extremely dull. I'm used to a sheen on both Connecticut shade and Ecuador Sumatra, to say nothing of the oily maduros. But...many great old Habanos had wrappers that were dull, as do some of my favorite Canary Island cigars. I'll know more tonight after I torch one or two. I bought the short figurado and the robusto. The robusto is a bit firmer, but, again, I'll know more tonight. Steve

Well? We're waiting.
I have had a couple of the robusto's and have been quite pleased with them. A very light draw, lighter than a 5V, but never gets too hot or overly spicy. Even burn with plenty of smoke.
