Great lady. For those that do not know she was PITA to the Nazis while with the French resistance during WWII.

Tonight I warm my very best cognac and burn my very best cigar in her honor - feel free to join.

God Bless You Julia

Dan Ackroyd did a take off of her in one of the funniest all-time skits on SNL. She was quite a grand old dame. May she rest in peace.

Bon Appetit Julia!

The classic of all Julia shows had to be the one with Jaques Pepin when they did the show together on Food Network. She was just one hell of a good time gal and I bet a lot of fun to drink and talk to! Loved her and will miss Julia!

Charlie,

They still show those on PBS and they're great together. I have two favorites I've seen several times. One is all about eggs, she does it her way, Jacques his way. The other one they show around Thanksgiving every year. It's all about turkey...what else?

ah, bummer!

my ex-gf went to smith college, and julia child was a smithie as well. during one of the big homecoming dealios there (forget what they call it -- alum week or something), julia was there and the ex got to be her personal guide-type person for the week. she said that julia was just full of life and had a rapier-like wit, a "delight to hang with."

she'll be deeply missed by many.

If any of you go to the Smithsonian Institution, in the Museum of American History in the Mass Media department, among other things, they have a replica of Julia Childs Kitchen! I was inspired when I saw it, because I alway say "If I had a bigger kitchen..." well, hers wasn't that big, and she had all the cabinets and shelves ripped out on one side for the cameras. (yes, they originally filmed her in her own kitchen, in her own home!) it was packed, but everything had a place, including a full sized butcher block! RIP Julia!
