Anyone have any experience w/ xxxx? I just placed some cuban cohibas in my shopping cart and went through the order process without actually finalizing it. Looks like they ship to the US.

How can they legally ship to the U.S.? I'm sure the order has to go through customs.

I stick to nicaraguancigars.com or hondurancigars.com. Real cuban cigars are hard to find and IMHO not worth the effort or cost.

This is interesting. I just got an email them re: my attempted order. Apparently they ship the cigars without the bands on them and in plain boxes. The cigar bands are shipped separately. Pretty slick.

I agree with Bud. Add dominicancigars.com. Like the Feds wouldn't be on to their "slick" trick? Right. More counterfit ISOMS out there than the real ones, and the real ones sure as hell aint what they used to be.

The new folks here, I can understand their ignorance. But those who have been here awhile surely know by now that we don't post URL's of other cigar sites on this forum. Not only is is in bad taste, it's also stated in the rules ... Let's see how long it will take before they are xxxx'ed out ... LOL!

There are so many great legal cigars. Why take chances with ISOM's? They aren't much better than a good Nicaraguan IMHO. Listen to Bud. Every once in awhile he makes sense. (But not very often. LOL)

Cubans are nice to have, but I would not go out of my way to find them, especially on a site that cannot ship to you legally! Agree with Jack, there are so many good cigars why bother! Try Padrons, Excalibers, Punch, Napa Reserves (if you can find them) and Indian Tabacs. Charlie

To quote the 'General Guidlines' ... 'Some examples of unreasonable messages may include the use of profanity, advertising or commercial purposes, competing web sites, and disparaging an individual, a company or another website. In the event that certain Forum postings are questionable, the posting will be taken down, and offenders may have their privileges removed.' If I am not mistaken these are cigars sites, and I believe that they also sell other cigars besides Cuban ... that's a competing web site, IMHO ...

Thanks for the fine print. My intention was not to promote another website. Just seeking opinions. Last I heard a "forum" is a place for open discussion.

If a "forum" is provided to you by a company whose interest it is to sell you cigars, I agree with Captain cut and past, that it is in bad taste to discuss other competing web sites. The intention of the forum is to talk about cigars and insult our fellow cigar smokers (you can join in after you post your pic wearing your best party dress) not to talk about where else you can buy cigars. Do like utilizing this forum? Then don't piss in the pool.

Good points from Slim (AKA: Capt. Cut and Paste..LOL) and Mr. Mean (Ed), although I am a little ticked that you had to tell everyone about what I wore at the last herf...I was drunk, OK?...Just forget about it finally for pete's sake...Everyone makes mistakes....You don't criticize Jack for wearing the spiked collar and leather girdle, don't give me flack for trying to look pretty for the boys...LOL

Keith or Gonz just didn't see it ... that's all. It's a site that sells cigars other than Cuban ... and should be xxx'ed out ...

What do you mean, Charlie, 'especially on a site that can't ship to you legally'? Cubans are legal everywhere except the USA ... so they ship legally everwhere else, so therefore no place 'brick and mortar' or on line can sell in or to the USA ... LOL! One site (I won't mention) is the online store of one of the most prestigious cigar retailers in the world, and they've been in business for over 200 years! They even sell aged Cubans, rare Cubans and Cuban Maduros (when they're not sold out). I've bought from them, and have been very pleased ...

Cuban cigars are WRONG! Just wrong! Evil springs from them. They should be purged. Down with evil Cuban cigars WRONG WRONG WRONG. Rid yourself of these temptations. You lucky, I am a certified licensed ordained "Evil Cuban Cigar Get Rid Ofer". Years of intensive training has allowed me to recieve these evil stogies from innocent victims like yourselfs, and take them from this world. And the only way to do that my friends, is by FIRE! That's right, I will burn these evil cigars till they are but ashes on my driveway. I do this, as a service, to my fellow cigar fraiends. So it with my brothers (and Sara) FRAIENDS.
My work here is done.

Slimboli, you can buy pre-embargo Cubans legally if you can find them, and I am sure that you have a lead on some, but I just don't think they are worth the price--sorry. I have about 6 Montecristo #2's, a Bolivar Pyramid, and a couple Cohibas that are all "illegal" or whatever you want to call them, but I would not go through the trouble to bring them into States! There are too many great cigars available........I think about the Napa Reserve and I would place it above any Cuban I have smoked! I know you have a corner on them, wish I had been as smart as you! Cubans are a great "been there, done that" sort of thing. But at 15 bucks a pop or more they are nothing but a novelty. Most folks (myself included) couldn't REALLY pick one out of a lineup of similar quality smokes from elsewhere. It's amazing that we classify all cuban cigars in one category, when there are great ones and lesser ones just like from the DR or elsewhere. I remember about 20 years ago we couldn't get Coors beer here in the Northeast. We paid top dollar when we could find some. Claimed it tasted like Angel Nectar. "worth every penny". What a joke.

Tailgater ... I've got to disagree. The reason most people can't tell a 'Cuban' from the others, is because they have never had a real one. Since 95% of most ISOM's sold are fake, how wold they know? I've had the pleasure of getting ISOM's from very reputable people and sources, and I assure you, they have a taste and smell all their own. It is very unique and unmistakable, no other cigar can compare. I'm not saying that Cubans are better than others (there are plenty of great cigars out there that I like better), it's just that a 'real' Cuban will leave you wanting for more ...

...and I remember when I thought Coors was nectar of the gods.....we all wanted it because we were told we couldn't have it...."We pursue that which retreats from us"....I have a genuine fake cuban for the first person to correctly identify the source of that quote.

JBG, I believe it was Mr Spock. Just before he coined "the needs of the many are greater than the needs of the few.........or the one..." sniff, brings a tear to my eye every time...

Slim, very few folks have had the genuine opportunity to know true ISOM from fakes. My point was that people who don't know a swisher from a padron will still pay 20 bucks for a puff. The aura is more important than the product. And people DO lump ALL cuban cigars together, which is a joke. Sure, there is a flavor characteristic that can't be replicated with the same seeds grown elsewhere, but that isn't what is driving the price upwards. It's the "forbidden fruit" sydrome. You don't see NY City Bagels going for $20 a dozen even though they're the BEST...

... well, there's some truth in what you say. But, I have a couple of friends who smoke Cubans exclusively, and have done so for many years. For the most part, they won't smoke anything else ... simply because they like ISOM's better than anything else they've tried. These guys have been smoking cigars for a very long time ...

You should give them a Napa or two... How's about a Coors?

well here is a little test then....if money was absolutely NO object, would you drive a ferrari with a sticker of $250,000.....how about $600,000.....or even $2M....remember, money is no object.....would you drive "the best" even if the price was ridiculous? Then again, if money is no object, is there such a thing as a ridiculous price?
