Anyone own a Colibri lighter and if so which is your favorite? I recently bought a Quantum Tank with a retractable punch and love the damn thing. Best $60 I spent in a while!

I loved my Colibri lighter. It functioned flawlessly for years, then alas it broke and I was unable to get Colibri to agree to repair it. I was unimpressed with their customer service. I hope that yours works as well as mine.

I was given a churchhill a few years ago. I had problems with it the whole time. Then I took it the my local cigar shop at which it was bought and they sent it away for me. It now works better than ever and I got a new blade. It's now my everyday lighter since my wife got me a colibri elite flint. It's a very nice looking lighter and it works great! It reminds me of the $450 dunhills.

Piece of crap!

I bought one 3 years ago. It broke with in one week. The Gar shop was not allowed to take it back. They said it was Colibri's policy.

I sent the thing in for repair. When I got it back it didn't work. I called and I was not impressed with their customer service either. They said send it in again. I asked if I could sent it freight collect or use their UPS account number they said NO! I said this thing is NEW why should I have to continualy pay for shipping? "Thats our policy" they said. So I sent it in again, got it back, didn't work again. Sent it back, got it back, worked but barely. Still have it, worked marginaly for a while then crapped out a month ago. I don't remember the model but it was a Jet/Torch type and cost about $80.00

I hope the bone heads at Colibri read these messages or maybe CB forwards this to them. Yeah, right.

I guess they don't pay for return freight because they know they'd go broke with all of the returns.

Someone gimme a match...

Sent mine away 2 weeks ago (Quantum, 3rd Millenium edition) for repair (after using it for a month!) and am still waiting for its return... How long does it take? I am unimpressed with the Colibri Quantum torch, I'm not familiar with the others since the one I sent away was the only one I had from them. The ignition system burns out really quick. In the meantime, I'm using these weird cedar sticks with a head on it to light my cigars, I think they're called 'matches'? :) Anyway, I think I'm gonna stick to these 'matches' from now on, they're reliable, they're cheap, and you don't have to send them away to get repaired every month.

I think the Colibri Lighter is manufactured by the same people that made FIATs. Remember: Fix It Again Tony.

I had a Fiat a few years ago and you are right about (fix it again tony), but it was fun when it did run and man could you get girls with it. (when it was running) ;-)

That's the idea, DP. It's all in the timing. You're supposed to get the girl, drive a fair distance to nowhere, then allow the car to work its magic (die). After a couple of hours of visitation, the girl then pushes the car back in to town.
