Rick, you burning from VCR to Computer DVD burner?

I said the hell with it and purchased a DVDBurner/player with 80 gig hard drive and got the VCR hooked into it...

the connectors and crap I was going to need for hook-up for the top was going to run me almost as much as the open box item DVD burner I bought...

I know U**d.com has a component to hook into your computer to entertainment center where you can upload and download media/music back and forth I thought this was cool and was going fairly cheap...

didn't you like my email?

i have a dvd burner and studio 321 for duping dvd's.

i thought i needed to copy the vhs to the hard drive and then burn from there to the dvd. if there is an easier way to go from vhs to dvd, that would simplify things.

i don't screw around copying any tv movies except to vhs which is good enough in my cse, but i have some vhs tapes that i want to dup and my backup vcr crapped out so i thought this dazzle thing would work. i also have an external 200 gig maxtor hard drive that i was using for back up until it crapped out and destroyed whatever i had on it. it would work for copying the vhs to hard drive, as soon as i can figure out how to do it. i think from there i can burn a dvd from the hard drive.

Hey Rick, I see you're having some problems. I think I can help you. I use Roxio 7 for transfering vhs to dvd. Real easy to use...one button and it will do everything for you. It will even split the vhs into chapters if you want. Kind of like the 321 Studios. Drop me an email and I'll send you a link to my server and I'll post the Roxio there for you to get.

This, IMO, is the best site for any and all questions pertaining to video.

Rick I can give you a hand... I do this all the time.
Email me with your home number and I'll give you a call. ajeroth @ yahoo dot com

Also... Wal-Mart has a DVD recorder. Like a VCR, you hook it up the same way but put in a blank DVD-/+R and hit record. The cheap one is $150.00 right now. It would simplify things. I use an ATI All In Wonder Video Capture card and Adobe Primere for video making and recording. An hour of Raw video recorded from a tape is around 13 Gig. Then you can compress it if you like to a Divx format for smaller storage.
