e-chick, forgive me for arguing with a CBid board legend, but I don't think it is the environmentalists which are the problem. The root cause is the population explosion competing with some people's desire to have land which has not been over-run and destroyed by thoughtless people (not that you would be one of them, but there are many people who abuse the privelage).

now you are hitting a little close to home with the smoker's rights...

It is an old problem, that when you increase the number of people in the situation (whatever it is)... then the rights of the individuals are diminished by the shear complexity of trying manage it.

The problem is, the alternative is to try to police the situation, which is expensive.

Exactly PMoreno349, and this Planet/ Country is large enough to house All... Freedoms for all... although your theory with the Environment with E's point can also be taken out of context for smokers rights or non rights there of... same shoe different foot...

Less government, more morals and ethics tought....

I concede that the ideal answer is to manage by instilling values and morals so that people make good decisions.

I will even concede that conservatives have a more straight-forward recipie for accomplishing this, However... when it comes time to lay down the definition of morals and values, is when we will get into trouble.

PM it is saddening to think that this time has already passed.. the question is can it be brought back before it is way to late? and we are already in trouble..
