This is old but still good refrence...

You might want to learn these facts in order to properly debate our poor misguided friends and family before election time!

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January. In the fair city of Detroit, Michigan there were 35 murders in the month of January. Detroit is just one United States’ city and it is about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq.

When some claim President Bush shouldn’t have started this war, state the following facts:

Franklin Delano Roosevelt led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us, Japan did. From 1941 to 1945 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Harry S. Truman finished that war and then started on in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950 to 1953 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Lyndon B. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965 to 1975 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

William Jefferson Clinton went to war in Bosnia without consent of France or the United Nations. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden’s head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama bin Laden has attacked us on multiple occasions.

In the two years since terrorists attacked the United States of America President George W. Bush has liberated two countries, has crushed the Taliban, crippled Al-Quaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people (Sadam Hussein).

We have been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find her Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard in Iraq than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick, drowning Mary Jo Kopechne.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!

Our Commander in Chief is doing a great job! The military moral is high. The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.

If you can read this thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English thank our troops!

It might be a good story if some of it was true. Lets go down the list shall we?

"Franklin Delano Roosevelt led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us, Japan did. From 1941 to 1945 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year."

Germany declared war on the United States 11 December 1941, 4 days after Pearl Harbor, it didn't have to attack.

"Harry S. Truman finished that war and then started on in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950 to 1953 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year."

Harry Truman did not start the Korean War read your history. Also, it was a UN force not just the US.

"John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Lyndon B. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965 to 1975 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year."

Eisenhower sent the first advisors to Vietnam in 1955. The first deaths were in 1959. Again, Kennedy didn't start the Vietnam conflict.

"William Jefferson Clinton went to war in Bosnia without consent of France or the United Nations. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden’s head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama bin Laden has attacked us on multiple occasions."

The mission to Bosnia was again a Nato mission. To quote from the Republican Policy Committee, "In late 1995, President Bill Clinton dispatched some 20,000 U.S. troops to Bosnia-Hercegovina as part of a NATO-led "implementation force" (IFOR) to ensure that the warring Muslim, Serbian, and Croatian factions complied with provisions of the Dayton peace plan."

For Clinton and Bin Laden see: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/clinton.htm
http://www.cnn.com/US/9808/20/us.strikes.01/
The Sudan story you refere to was from "Vanity Fair" and wasn't verified or reported on by any other news service.

"In the two years since terrorists attacked the United States of America President George W. Bush has liberated two countries, has crushed the Taliban, crippled Al-Quaida,"

The above part is true:

"...put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people (Sadam Hussein)."

There are no inspectors in North Korea or Iran at this point in time. The UN has reported just recently that Iraqii nuclear material is missing during our occupation. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/12/iraq.nuclear/

"We have been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find her Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard in Iraq than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick, drowning Mary Jo Kopechne."

Obviously, not the case 18 months later.

"It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!"

OK, I admit I have no idea on that statement.

"Our Commander in Chief is doing a great job! The military moral is high. The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts."

Only 43% of the people think the President is on the right track: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Right%20Direction.htm
And only 44% Rate Bush Good/Excellent on Iraq.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/War%20with%20Iraq%20Bush%20Ratings.htm

Makes for good reading for the masses who don't care to look anything up though.

Good point by point rebuttal.
Let's see how fast this thread sinks,
as threads that don't follow lockstep with the neocons propaganda normally do.

one point you have not become aware of yet. something i learned on these boards a long time
ago, which allows me to play around with anything i want and get almost any response i want, is
the fact that "bush people" accept him, i guess i should type Him, on faith alone.

while there is nothing wrong with faith for a religeous philosophy, one shouldn't have faith in a
used car salesman, or in a president. one needs to take the used car to a mechanic, and one
needs to investigate, with an open mind, what the man has done as president, not what he said he
has done.

example support the troops,
cut funding.

no child left behind,
cut funding.

assist citizens in obtaining prescription drugs that are affordable,
prevent citizens from obtaining cheaper prescritptions drugs from canada.

on this board, factual information that does not fit the faith, is dismissed. once you make the "leap
of faith" in a religeous context, you close input. there is no reason for input, because you are
dealing with faith, and no information contrary will be considered.
it's faith or fact, and faith is stronger.

i hate to bring tony into this, but i do not understand, nor care to, why someone prays for help to
the same entity that allowed his accident to happen, but, in my case i don't have "faith," so i am
not able to make a judgment

you only have a few more weeks until election, and then we will start arguing about football and
basketball, with a occassional reference to "slick willy" and "gore the bore", so enjoy these last few
weeks, and "pray" that there are more voters that vote for kerry, and "pray" the administration
does not come up with marchall law or a nuclear threat, or some other way of overturning the
election, so that the moron running this country can continue to rule.

Rick, I don't recall your having spent a lot of time and trouble looking to dig up sh** on Clinton ... or, for that matter, on Kerry ...

So, is it a personal thing with you and W or is it Republicans in general ??

ken star pissed away 70 quadrillion dollars and came away with nothing. where would you like me to look.

have i looked into anything about kerry? i wouldn't care if i found out he f'd a chicken.

it is a personal thing with me, in a sense.

w is the stupidest president we ever had. he has led us down a path that has made us the laughing stock of the world and he is a serial killer. i have never been more uncertain for my country's survival than i have been the last three years. this con man has fooled the easily guilable. i hope there are enough people with brains to get him out and turn the country back on it's correct path.

you are quite capable of reading the same books i have read and doing the same research i have. if you had, you would be sitting next to me.

Yo Rick:

Why don't you pretend GW drafted you and run to your "other" country, Canada.
