Yo Rick:

When I copy, paste, and go to these Urls (Fortunate Son, What do you make of this, and Not Partisan) my computer puts up a warning sign " that this file may be harmful to my computer", so I do not open those files. They probably only carry spyware or adware virus and I do have McCaffe anti-virus, Spybot, and Zone Alarm but I still will not download those files.

Are you sure when your computer went down it was caused by your DSL and not some website you downloaded from?

many sites give that warning. my dsl which usually downloads at 700 kbps went to 49 kbps. the area from long beach calif to los angeles calif was affected.

i use norton, zone alarm, and webroot spyweeper.

i've only had two virus in ten years or so and one came in with a game way back, the other one hit my computer in the office. my brother was in the office and i don't know where he went on the net. my computer man cleaned it out with no problem.
