This was passed to me, but I can't understand it. Maybe you can. I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so I'll know
how to vote come November. Right now, we have one guy saying one thing.
Then the other guy says something else - who to believe?

Lemme see - have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good..
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists-
good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - no biggie...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good... (many mass graves found in Iraq-press ignores)
No WMD found in Iraq - bad... (much Iraqi WMD now being found by UN
inspectors in Jordan and Syria-press ignores)

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - no biggie...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad...

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Senior Bush - Can't make deal to land warplanes on SAUDI bases to shorten gulf war. - BAD

Junior Bush - Let's plane load of SAUDIS including BinLadens fly home on Sept. 12th 2001, while millions of numbed and frightened Americans are stranded in countless airports away from their frantic families. hmmm... let's see...I guess that's good. It must be.

Senior Bush - President during first invasion of IRAQ. Leaves SADDAM in power. Gets voted out of office. Joins group of former advisors and a former allied head of State (Prime Minister of England) to form CARLYLE GROUP. A company that invests pension funds in defense and telecommunications companies around the world. The Carlyle Group is the nation's 10th largest defense contractor, with extensive ties to Enron, Global Crossing, Arthur Andersen, the Saudi Royal Family, and the Bin Ladens. - BAD

Junior Bush - Orders the invasion of Iraq to "rid the world of SADDAM" on nothing more than fuzzy intelligence. Needs lots of weapons and defense contractors. - GOOD (For CARLYLE Group.)

Not confusing at all.

That would mean that Senior had to know little George was gonna be President. I don't see it as being all set up. Maybe just good timing.

If you look at the names of the leadership of Carlyle Group, you'll see former high ranking Republicans as well as a Clintonista there as well. It really didn't matter who was president. The war was really just good fortune for the company, but they would have profited no matter who was president. Just makes you wonder. We're talking BIG money. That is what drives me bonkers. Millions of law abiding citizens trying to scratch out a living, thousands of underpaid soldiers and sailors sacrificing home and family and all too often their life and insiders like a former president and his cronies profit handsomely because our military needs trucks, tanks, guns, ammo, food, water, tents and telephones. I guess it's called the free market society. Most of the income is derived from government contracts. The tax money you and I pay. I think they ought to take all that profit, divide it up and give it to each and every active duty military family.

You do know you're wrong on both of those accounts...right? We did use Saudi air bases.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/facility/prince-sultan.htm

President Bush had nothing to do with letting the Bin Laden extended family leave the US. That decision only made it to Richard Clarke. He made the decision, not GW!

Perhaps you got caught up with Moo-re's hype but forgot to check the facts...that's okay. Moo-re is a liar, and a liar by omission which to me is even worse.

No, I don't stay up that late on weekdays.

I had heard a rumor that Christo was going to wrap some town in Spain with them though.

not very confusing. as was stated above, we're talking big money here. the wall street journal recently featured an article regarding certain prominent members of this carlyle group who showed up to celebrate the group's financial success. among them were james baker and, oh yeah, bush sr.&co. though it pains me tremendously to admit it, there certainly are some strange occurences regarding the bush family and big money/bin ladens. that being said, there are strange occurences with each of our presidents past and present. i remain firm in the belief that bush jr. still is the better candidate for the job. and also that michael moore is nothing more than an overfed waste of oxygen.

Unless of course you count the half a billion $ his movie company and distrubutor are expecting to take in from "Farenheit 911". Not really a genius, just a pretty darn good film maker. We don't have to necessarily agree with his agenda, but you have to admit, he's popular. Ever see "Roger 'N Me" ? Of course, it was slanted and biased. But, he made a point and a ton of money. Did he help anyone? Not really. Flint still got flushed like a party barf. Same for "Bowling for Columbine". He told a story, embarassed Chuck Heston, got Kmart to quit selling live rifle and hand gun ammo which they were losing money on and it was just a complete pain in the a$$ having to register the customers in a log book just to sell 100 CCI Mini-Mag shells anyway. Did anything change? All very intersting stories, well told and produced. All very thought provoking. Some truth and alot of sensationalism.

Changing someone's mind about an election is another thing.

No... He's right..Anyone who listens to Michael Moore and believes his crap is an A$$hole. Now with that said, tell me where in my post did I push his agenda? All I said, right or wrong, he is a good film maker.

I saw Roger n me about 10 years ago. MM is from Flint. I'm from Michigan as well and I didn't buy all he was selling at the time. He made it seem that GM was the sole reason that Flint went to hell. It was that way all over the state. I sent him a letter asking him to come to Benton Harbor and I was going to show him we had it WAY worse than Flint. Flint was not special, but we didn't have anyone filming a documentary about Benton Harbor whose problems began years before Flint's.

I didn't call you an a$$hole, I said if they believe moores crap they are fools... and I still wasn't directing that at yourself unless you fit the bill... so many have taken Moores crap for gospil and that is a sign of a fool... unless their willing to view the other options which many on here have proclaimed not to do so... Thus makes them Fools...
in Fahrenhype 911 alone are the feedbacks from the soldiers and others Moore manipulated in his film.. and their not happy campers they feel used and wish they could sue his ass... I think they should be able to...

it's one thing to have freedom of speech it's another to abuse it with falsifying the documentation to fit an agenda....

I know where you are talking about. My dad worked for Voice of Music in Benton Harbor and then Whirlpool in St. Joseph. He got laid off in '82 and never really recovered. My first job was with Auto Specialties. Good thing that company went belly up. I'm glad I lost that job. I know that wouldn't sit well with the Autos faithful, but c'mon. 18 years old, I wanted to meet chicks. I didn't want to set cores all day and try to rub skin all night. Not good for the hands. My hands felt like they went thru a sand blaster.

Did you know Frankie Roberts?

I went there for my 18th birthday and a guy named "Ugly Mike" bought me a beer. So did about 6 other guys. I drove home about 10 MPH. Glad my dad was sleeping.

I know where that is. Is it still there? I haven't been in downtown St. Joe for at least 15 years. You and I would sure have crossed paths at one time.

You remember the Pumphouse? Just down the street. Same side, only closer to the river. Was called HI's Saloon last time I was back there.

Remember it, I closed it down a time or 2 with the frat gang. I was an Aplha Phi Omega from LMC. We owned it. Pumphouse Bill was our sponsor. Someone ran him over outside of the "Cove" in downtown St. Joe about 1980.
