LMAO!!!

What if everything you've been told to give up were actually the very things keeping you alive

Guess what: THEY ARE.
Red Meat. Coffee. Fatty foods. Eggs. Butter and cream. Tobacco. Even sunshine. All the things that make life worth living are things mainstream medicine wants you to give up in the name of good health.

What do they want us to substitute for these delicious, satisfying "vices?" Bean sprouts, tofu this and soy that, gallons of water, and a bunch of joint-destroying, heart-stressing lunacy they call "exercise."

But is this really the right course? Is there really such an overwhelming body of evidence that says we need to be a society of water-intoxicated vegetarian marathoners to be healthy?

NO. There isn't. Mainstream medicine's "sky is falling" philosophy is just so much JUNK MEDICINE. Need Proof? Consider this...

That quick coffee-and-cigarette breakfast isn't the killer
those doom-and-gloomers say it is. Far from it, in fact...

That cup of coffee you crave after you shut off the alarm clock is actually one of nature's healthiest miracles. In fact, that first morning mug may pack more health-boosting antioxidants than 3 fresh oranges!

And if you're like me, you enjoy a nice, hot "cuppa joe" throughout the day. So don't fret - indulge, because:

2-3 CUPS A DAY can slash your risk of gallstones by 45%!
4 CUPS can dramatically cut your risk of colon cancer - the second deadliest variety of the disease in America...
And if you do smoke cigarettes (something I'd warn anyone against), keep that coffee pot plugged in - because some research shows that drinking coffee helps prevent smokers from developing bladder cancer.

Of course, as a doctor, I could never condone cigarette smoking. With all the chemicals, additives, and addictive drugs they pack into them, they're to be avoided like the plague...

But notice I didn't say that smoking tobacco is harmful. Quite the contrary, in fact. The benefits of moderate smoking of pure, unadulterated tobacco (like what's in a fine cigar) have been known for centuries. Good luck finding this out from our friends in the medical mainstream, however.

As far off as it may sound, up to four cigars a day can help anyone:

Maintain optimum weight and Body Mass Index
Stay as mentally sharp and alert as possible
Avoid (and combat) addictions to truly harmful substances
Lessen the effects of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's - even schizophrenia
The campaign against tobacco is just one more example of how the mainstream's junk medicine pervades our lives - and forces us into making "healthy" choices that may actually be killing us . Keep reading...

So who am I to be swinging this ax?

This reminds me of my buddie's Grandad (Grampa Sage); at age 65 he had a quadruple by-pass and the doctor told him he now had the heart of a 40 year old man. As soon as he could get up and around, he went out and bought his first cigar in 15 years, after a doctor told him to quit. I remember him talking to us boys in his back yard and he said, basically, medicine is bunk. The stuff they put in a pill fixes one problem but causes 2 more. Putting his palmns in the air he said, "This is all I need. Fresh air and a good cigar."

after reading this, I went down to the local park during my lunchbreak (which I usually spend sitting at my desk, working), lit up a cigar out of my office humi and read a book out in the crisp autum air next to the river. Life is good...

Yea, expecially those whiney diabetics. I'f they'd just quit babying themselves with insulin and toughen up they'd be far healtier. (Disclaimer: sarcastic content).

Modern disease is studied by population epidemiology etc. Population studies of smokers vs. non-smokers, drinkers vs...etc., clearly show health benefits for certain behaviors over others. Caveat emptor. Probably the greatest health diminshers are poverty and ignorance however. Ironically the wealthy smokers among us probably fare better impoverished non-smokers. Hype aside, the key is(as Aristotle discovered recently) moderation. Toxins (ethanol, nicotine, etc) are well, toxic! However, used in moderation can impart a 'sense' of well being that is a health builder in itself. Lots of contradictions in this field of study. For me, occasionally enjoying myself seems to work wonders. I am, however, blessed with a biochemistry that shuts off over consumption, and biochemistries vary widely. Some people are tee-totalers, and others abusive lushes; it's generally more contingent on one's inherent biochemistry that pure will power. One thing is sure, strict, long-term tee-totalling and celibacy have proven bad for my physiology, however well they might work for others; hence the atheistic, guiltfree, hedonistic lifestyle suits me quite well in small doses.

Unfortunately for every study that condones one thing, another is conducted which finds the exact opposite. I usually look at who funded the study. I'll bet Folger's and Phillip-Morris backed up this one. I'm a lot more concerned about cancer than I am about gall stones. Sometimes you need to look at the risk/benefit ratio.
