Any good? Yea, Yea, I know it's a subjective question, but I was thinking about a box or two of the JR Punch Rothchilds for everydays, (so maybe I can keep my hands off my good stuff and let 'em age a bit!). Anything info you guys can offer will appreciated

Have the JR alternative Cuban Cohiba Robustos and they're pretty good, especially for the price. They are no where near Cubans but a decent full-bodied smoke. I say, what do you have to lose with the prices ??

I got some of the LGC maduro's, not even close to the same. Stick to Connies. Same stick, dirt cheap.

I don't mean to be an 'old stick in the mud' (again) ... and I hate 'beat a dead horse' (again), but if I don't who will?

Guys, it really is in bad taste to discuss another retailers site on our hosts forum. Even though this is a BB, it is run by CI, and they prefer that we don't do this.

After all, it is in the rules ... :)

Keep your hands off the good stuff? Why in the hell would you want to do that? Life is too short to smoke cheap cigars, don't get me wrong I enjoy a good deal but not if quality is sacrificed. with cigarbid prices, and for that matter CI prices why are you worried about aging the good stuff, as good stuff ages replace with more good stuff and repeat, the only thing the "alternatives" are for is giving to a moocher who will not apriciate the quality, character, and depth of "the good ones"

How did you do that? My post did the 'double thing', and you ended up between them? Too weird ...

JBG,I personally don't see how asking about a certain brand name cigar could possibly be a party foul.I mean JR Alts are just that JR Alts.I mean aren't the Alt to Padron Anni's from JR? I could be wrong...

Slim, I see no foul for discussing this brand. We didn't mention any websites or anything to that extent, so I don't see the harm. Maybe I should post about the Biarritz SS to distract you?? LMAO! ;)

slimboli is correct.....that initial company not only makes them but sells them exclusively, so it is not another cigar but a proprietary one. besides after they way "he" issued stock @ 25.00 and managed to buy it all back @ $15.00 costing me a few dollars, i am not interested in his cute little advertising book.

I don't see any harm in mentioning the cigar as long as the website isn't mentioned by name. Also, the Alternatives aren't exclusive to that particular website as I have seen them sold on others and even in my local shop. I guess someone must be breaking the rules. Anyway, the cigars are worth it for the price. John

MMMMMM, interesting topic. I too do not see the harm. After all, there are the Genuine Counterfeit Cubans being sold here, and aren't they connected to "them"? If the site's name were being trumped around, then I could see the point. But thediscussion of a particular cigar should not infringe upon the rules. IMHO.

I tend to agree with Slimboli (wow) and will not discuss these sticks, they are cheap and for the price ok! Charlie

As for buying back stock at a lower price, that's the American way! You buy all the stock (at a lower price) and ensure that the price holds steady by not moving it around, meanwhile, you accomplish being a "publicly" traded company.

not when the stock is being bought back by the company itself. shall we start another board called "stocks"?

It's not the discussion on a competitor cigar that is in bad taste in this instance (hegiehomo make a decent point), it’s the fact that you guys spent all this time talking about what in all actuality is a **** cigar. Let’s talk about something different than the same old crap that you want to try for $20 a box! How is this new CAO Brazilian smoke?

It's some kind of powerful smoke. I spent an hour on the first and had to slow it down. Strong flavor, tons of smoke, nice burn. I'll stick with the smaller ones.
