and I won!!!!

Went to court on a speeding ticket today. Here are the stats I kept as they called the calender:

10 defendants on the 2:15 calendar
2 def did not show up - failure to appear filed
2 def presented their cases to the judge
6 def had their cases dismissed for "failure to prosecute" - the cops didn't show

(I didn't stay to see how the other 2 defendant's fared.)

Sparked a tasty CAO ann maddy to celebrate.

Good for you.

I had similar luck thanks to my bro. He is a county jailer that has made friends with the traffic judge. Judge threw my tickest out.

I got a ticket awhile ago and I just paid it and went to traffic school so it stays off my record.

I WAS SPEEDING!! 88 in a 65.

When the CHP officer was finished he says to me... why didn't you tell me you were an MP (he saw the little badge on my window)? And I said... um, I didn't know it would make a difference.

Bottom line is, I was speeding and I got caught. I paid the fine.

I drive about 60,000 miles a year so occasional tickets happen. Been to court 5 times :won once, lost twice, had charges significantly reduced(no points) twice. My method is to befriend the police before the hearing. Remember they are usually one on one familiar with the judge so it's tough to beatem if they show. One time my license was on the line and as it turned out the judge was the same guy who married me to the misses ,so i begged for mercy claiming he previously gave me a life sentence. It worked ,charges were dropped from a 90 day suspension and a 1000 dollar fine to no points and a 95 dollar fine!

Awesome attitude MACS, I only wish more people would take responsibility for their actions like this. I can always dream I guess...
