GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Packers aren't ruling out Michael Vick.

Asked whether Green Bay might be interested in the scandal-tainted quarterback, general manager Ted Thompson didn't rule it out Tuesday.

But that doesn't necessarily mean the Packers are in hot pursuit of Vick. Thompson is notoriously coy about the team's plans, so it wasn't immediately clear whether his comments indicated a sincere and significant level of interest.

"What is the answer that we give to questions like this? We're always looking to improve our team," Thompson said. "We look at all options at all times. I wouldn't care to speculate in terms of the odds or the percentages (of signing Vick) or anything like that."

But they've at least discussed Vick internally?

"We look at everything," Thompson said.

Thompson acknowledged that the Vick situation was unique, but said that didn't change the process the team uses to evaluate players.

Mat be..but is still a physical freak. I want him to win ball games......not teach Sunday school.

I do NOT want him to replace Rodgers...just do some Wildcat type stuff and return kicks.

My wife would likely hunt him down and have him killed. It'd be fun to watch.

I think that whenever Vick plays on the road, the host team should play "Who Let the Dogs Out" over the PA system...even though I hate that friggin' song.

I musta been living in a cave back then ‘cause I don’t remember anything about this.

But it all worked out. Vick signed with Philadelphia and in the Wildcard game the next year, he threw up an interception to Tramon Williams to seal the win for the Packers. And of course, Rodgers would lead Green Bay to a Super Bowl win a month later.

And he rehabbed his reputation the right way… wasn’t a big Vick fan but I did like seeing him better himself.

+1

After he was released from prison and he was interviewed, I had a pessimistic view of his claim that he learned his lesson, changed his life, etc., etc. Thought he was just saying that to just say the right thing. But each time I caught an interview, he sounded genuinely sorry for what he had done. So like Z, I’mma not much of a fan of his but don’t dislike him like I used to. After all, we all deserve a second chance, right? Think
