Rickamaven just dropped a nice package on my porch for no particular reason, and even requested that I don't recirocate.

It included a fist-full of 'high-end' cigars, including an ISOM that I have never tried, a lighter, a couple of really cool 'antique' humidifiers (nice) and even his 'trademark' cutter!

Whatever his political beliefs may be, and how ever you all may react to his comments, he is a very generous person none the less.

Thanks Rick ... you never know when I will strike back! Hehehe!

I wholeheartedly (huff, puff, what a mouthfull) agree. I got a newbie gift package from him that was more than kind, including one of his famous Evilios (Rick I loved it but every time I try to bid on them I see RM from La Hambra bidding and I can't bid against my mentor!), along with a bunch of other goodies and info. Thanks to Rick's GUIDE I now have what I need to keep 1,000 cigars humidified for what I would have spent on one 25 cigar humidifier. Now if I can only get him to send me a thousand cigars.

I also must agree. Rick sent me a newbie package. I was expecting just some info. I got lots of info that I couldn't find on any of the cigar 101 type sites, some cigars, lighter, cutter, and other goodies. Rick is my cigar God.

Rick is a great guy. I made a few trades with him and he was always more than generous. If you have an opportunity to trade with him, don't pass it up.

Hey, last year I asked him how he made his cigar-box clocks, and he just sent me one! A great guy.

Hey, Rick, I just made my first successful bid and I'm hoping to complete my second tonite. Does this qualify me for the "newbie" treatment???
Thanx for the great sight and Happy New Year!

Underneath that rough exterior lies a........rough interior. I've never traded with Rick, but I think he's a very good guy. A guy with a heart of gold. A regular philanthropist. Some might even say a maven.
Way to go Rick!

I went a step further and traded with him in person and was personnaly handed my newbie kit. Ricks politics are all screwed up but he is a nice guy. I gave him one of my EGG's. When I tried to smoke mine it canoed on me. I have 4 left but I am to irritated with them to try again. cj

chris, mine canoed also and i think someone here mentioned the cigars had to be turned so the moisture stayed distributed. canoe and all it was a super duper and lasted over two hours. enjoyed meeting you and if charlie can arrange a little get-together with the locals, i'll huff and puff (herf) and talk about woman instead of politics. i remember this girl in tachikawa.....

Man! I've done everything I can to suck up to Rick, even defended him on a post, but I just can't get his "newbie" welcome! Excuse me...I have to get a tissue! John

Rick, don't forget the info package for Todog. A used tissue, a dixie cup and a piece of bubble gum will do as a humidifier in a pinch.....No wait, that was from an old James Bond movie(don't try this at home). Sorry. Steve

Elleson, do you still have any eggs you want to part with? I'm itching to try one but can't find any in my neck of the woods. Would you be willing to trade or sell one? [email protected]

I too concur with Rick's generosity, he hooked me up with a "newbie" packet and great information on how to keep proper humidification for my smokes.

I'm new to your world and must say that I've really enjoyed reading the postings (by all of you). I figure you'll probably (hopefully) make good CIGAR mentors for me. A true newbie from the land of fruits and nuts.
