Hey Guys,
I'm new to Cigarbid and to Cigars. I have a humidor and about 40 cigars coming to my house from Cigarbid.
I tried an H.Upman at a friends house and didn't realize cigars could taste that good. Since then I've been buying one at a time to see what I like. I don't really know what the scale of mild to full flavor means but a Hoyo Excallibur #3 was a little too strong for me. Any Suggestions?
I really enjoy reading the forum. I am constantly laughing at all of your comments.
If your wondering about the screen name. I'm a Datsun fan.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi 510, welcome aboard, and if you liked the H Upmann, then I would suggest you try mild to medium strength cigars as it takes a while to get used to the robust full flavor ones such as Mayorgas, Excalibers, VSG, etc! You might try the Macanudo, Partagas(not the Black Label as they are fuller flavor), Romeo y Julieta
and moving to the medium to fuller bodied of Padron, La Gloria Cubana and Hoyo de Monterey! Some good bargain cigars on CB would be 5 Vegas, Aristoff, Don Juan Platinum and Indian Tabac. Have fun and good smoking! Charlie

Welcome to the forum :)
Some mild to mediums for you to start with: Ashton, Ashton Cabinet, Cupido Classic (NOT Criollo, that one's medium-full), Fittipaldi Cameroon, CAO L'Anniversaire Cameroon, Cerdan (if you can find it), Romeo y Julieta, Natural by Drew Estate, Padron Natural, Perdomo2, Punch Gran Cru, La Luna LHB, Fuente Hemingway, Fuente Gran Reserva, La Perla Habana Blonde, Astral Vintage Gran Reserve, Biarritz, and Blue Train. There are others but this is just what comes to mind offhand. Macanudo is blah. Hope that helps.

Welcome 510, (BMW, my initials, I don't own one of the cars), you might want to try a Bacarrat. They are inexpensive and mild, good stater smoke. the other suggestions are excellent also, have fun. Barry

Welcome to you, 510! You've picked a great place to look for cigars, etc. and some advice and fun, too. Judging from some of the suggestions made above, I think it's only fair to ask if you are aware that cigar prices can run from around a buck up to $100 or even more for a single stick? Most of us have our every day smokes, our Sunday smokes, special occasion sticks and then there are our dream lists. Also, like most of us, your tastes will change if you stick around for a while. The average smoker usually starts out with mild to medium and progresses to the fuller bodied smokes. Look for the better constructed smokes, usually a little pricier but easier on the mouth and throat and tastier in the long run. Watch the "Quickies" and "Samplers" sections on cbid and you should have agreat time! Oh yeah, you might consider aging a few of your better smokes in you humidor, from a few months to a few years as most properly stored sticks get better and better! Try it you'll like it! Paul

Welcome to cigarbid! montesino is also a good light to medium bodied choice, and their diplomaticos is not bad for a small ring guage cigar. if you are trying the indian tabac line (which I like a lot), you might want to wait on the super fuertes, as they are pretty full bodied.

Clancy, I love the Onyx Reserve, but would consider them to be in the medium to full flavor range, with a robust hit of herbs! Great cigar in the bigger ring sizes! Chrarlie

In my opinion, Leon Jimenez (natural wrapper) is a great mild cigar. You can get a good deal on them here. One of my favorites in the morning with a cup of joe.

As you go through the listings just ovoid anything that says "fire plug" or "bold" etc. This place is like a Mexican restaurant. If it says 'hot', you can believe it is.

Welcome aboard 510. Lots of suggestions have been made, but I imagine it would help if you suggested your average price range of what you want to pay in order to determine what you should go for. Lots of good smokes to choose from, lots of money to be spent.

I'm willing to spend up to $20 on a single stick. I will buy bulk at $3-7 per stick. I'm only 19 so my funds are low, but I can only imagine what great cigars lie ahead.

Ashton has been recommended, Davidoff's are wonderful, Fuente Chateaus or Hemingways, La Perla Habana, Avo Xo's are out of this world for a mild smoke, also try the Sosa #2's. The Ashton Double Magnum is what I started out on, and I still enjoy the smoke. The Davidoff 5000 is also an excellent mild smoke. If you can find a Graycliff, it's a good medium smoke. Macanudo Vintage 1988 or 1993 also a good choice. Stay away from Partagas, it will ruin your good taste.
