I got a shipment yester including a cigar lovers figurardo diary and 5 5vegas. I tried the monte and it was flat as the great plains and after half i let thre thing die out and lit the 5vegas, it had a ton more taste than the monte. Has anyone else tried this flat stick?? Maybe its just too mild??

i have smoked many a monte and never a vega. i think you might find the monte too mild for you. if you didn't pay too much for them, maybe we can do a trade or something. [email protected]

I had a flat cigar once. Stepped on it by mistake. Good enough flavor, but a tough draw...

IMHO, the Monte would be a fine cigar if it only cost 1 or 2 bucks, not worth their retail.

Flat cigars are much easier to draw...they don't roll away.

Montecristo was one of the names, along with King Edward and HavaTampa, I remember from childhood that my uncle and father talked about. Maybe the expectation when I tried my first Montecristo was to recreate those memories of sitting on the back porch with them as they puffed an talked. The memories, now over 40 years old, had more life. I also tried the one included in the diary. I wouldn't reach for one but I wouldn't turn one down either.

The Montecristo ISOM are among the great cigars in the world, probably the best! The others are ok! Too pricy for what you get! The 5 Vegas are one of the best of all cigars regardless of price! Charlie

I am very leery of the Dominican brands. Some are ok but many are so mild I think they have gone out. I have bought some 5 packs because the description says "full bodied". We will see. I am solidly in the honduran camp these days. I like a nice spicey smoke. A little sweetness or pepper is ok too. I am glad to hear about the 5 vegas, I have some coming.

I got the Diary Figurados sampler and I can't wait to try all those cigars.
I love mild so I am excited about the Montecristo

For you mild admirers, not for me, Macanudo, Don Diego, Astral and Bacarrat are all brands I would suggest you try! I like the Houndurian and Nicuraguan cigars myself! Charlie

I've been smoking Cinco Vegas for about a year now and I have found them to be a very consistent, flavorful smoke with the exception of the pyramids. When they roll them right they taste great, however more than a few were to tight to draw.
