I just smoked a Don Tomas (I think it was a corona) that I've been aging in my humidor for about 14 months now between some CAO Anniversaire's and found it disgusting. It had a very uneven burn, harsh woody taste (a sting like a young cigar), and a tight draw, even after some massaging. If you've smoked a Don Tomas, what was your experience with it? I know you should give a cigar a second chance before writing it off, so I'm trepidacious about trying this one again, and I'd rather risk mouth cancer with something I know is worthwhile ;) Let me know, thanks.

I have had a similar bad experience with Don Tomas Internationals the experience for me was bad each time, so don't waste your time. There are too many good cigars out there to smoke.

I smoked a Don Thomas robusto once and was unimpressed. I don't remember it having a tight draw....it just wasn't a very memorable smoke. If my first experience with a cigar is a "tight" draw I will give it a second chance.....especially if the tight draw was the only problem....as in my most recent experience with a Bahia Gold. The first Bahia Gold I ever smoked had a very tight draw...the second one was perfect. Damm good smoke.

Agreed. Tried them twice, found them to be, at best, singularly unmemorable. I won't waste my time with them.

I guess I'm in the minority...I enjoy Don Tomas(es?) but not the International line..I usually enjoy the Rothchilds..Nice nutty taste..It has been about a year since I last had one though..They have a Cameroon line just released..Tried one recently..Similar to a Partagas but not nearly as flavorful..Quite unimpressive.

I've never tried the International but I have found other Don Tomas to be pretty good. It's your basic, med-full bodied Honduran puro. I would only buy them if they were cheap, though. There are much better cigars, IMHO, out there for about two bucks a piece that I would rather smoke.

I won a box last summer on CB, and gave it plenty of chances, after the fifth one I tossed the rest in the bin.

Too many other good cigars to justify bothering with the DT line. Over the years this cigars quality and taste have lingered around the rim of the toilet. I have given up trying to like this cigar.
