I may have already done this one but, oh well. What is the food/foods that make you retch just hearing about them. Is it taste, texture or what?

For me, it's any kind of liver. Smells/tastes like dirt and ****.

Also....those nasty Circus Peanut candies. Spongey, squeaky, banana flavored little abominations.

PUKE!!!!

Whatta about you?

Animal organs in general. Who originally thought that would be a good idea?

Hard to say.....I've never eaten anything that I thought was disgusting.

I HAVE made a promise to myself never to eat testicles though.

It's gotta be liver by a long shot.....I hate the taste and it can't be masked. I've had people slip it into caserole's and pot pies and I can taste that crap....

Jade, I love the circus peanuts! But just the orange ones. Any other color is an abomination.

Agree on liver. Also can't do peas, texture grosses me out.
Coconut. The slightest bit in a recipe and I can tell. Won't even do the coconut milk. My SIL used to make the most beautiful german chocolate cakes every year at Christmas when I was a kid. Never had a single peice.

Kidneys, they smell like urine when you cook them and taste like it too.

Don't ask! It tastes exactly like it smells.

Oysters, mayo, lima beans, bologna (we got a steady diet of bologna and mustard sammiches when I was growing up, as we were po). Oh, and of course, any ghosts that aren't blue.

I love all kinds of food.....that being said Andrew Zimmern of "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" on the travel channel has the greatest job in the world IMO.

The only 3 things that make me gag are the

Muslim soup they serve in Singapore and Malaysia.Good GOD if it taste like it smells I just don't see how they can eat it.I cannot get past the smell to even taste it.

The boiled snails of Korea. They suck them out of the shell......they look like a big booger.I couldn't bring myself to try them.

And bagoong from the Philippines. Its a shrimp/fish paste thats just way toooooooooo fishy for my nose and pallette.I have tried it............I brushed my teeth a dozen times that day trying to get rid of the taste.

I'm not a real big fan of prepared dishes that contain curry in them.......................bad experience in Bombay.

As I used to tell my guys.................you don't travel around the world seeking out the first KFC or Mickey D's you come to.Try the local food first.......you might just like it.

^bagoong sounds a lot like belecan (Malaysian).

I don't dislike it, but I can't imagine eating a lot of it as JUST a condiment.

I've eaten belecan..................not as fishy and somewhat spicy.Definately not a fave but edible.

If you want to try bagoong I'll send you a jar. They sell it in Abilene at one of the Asian markets we frequent.I always pick up a half dozen balut........I'll send a couple of those to if you want to try them.

okra. beets.

I hate them.

I'd happily eat bagoong in place of either okra or beets and I don't like that either.

Durian. It's not that it tastes so terrible, it just stays with me so long it gets annoying. It takes a full day to get the taste out of my mouth, even then I smell it for a week after and it smells worse than it tastes. The aftertaste is pretty bad too. Like rotting onions and Limburger cheese. Weird because the forward taste is more of a creamy melon. Strange stuff. I thought I liked it at first but reconsidered.

No more.

TW=ball eater.

I agree with Andy. No balls for me.

I also agree with Ron. Those little snails they eat in Korea are some of the most disgusting things anyone puts in their mouth. I know, my wife liked to eat them when we were there and after kissing her the first time she had eaten them, I never made THAT mistake again...

I was all excited to try Uni sushi, so after finding out a local joint had it, I tried it... and nearly hurled right there in the restaurant. It was like a bad oyster X1000! Really didn't think I could get it down and keep it down long enough to make it to the bathroom. Turns out there are two different types of Uni, the fresh and tasty kind, and the fermented, taste like all that is bad in the world kind. I was subjected to the later, I get the dry heaves just thinking about it.

#20 Is bagoong Filipino slang for vijay?

Wow, um...

Oh wait, now I see #15. Man, there are three foods I'd never heard of nor imagined, and they all sound awful. I remember snails in sauce at tapas bars in Spain. I wouldn't touch them. In 46 years, I've been fairly adventurous with food, but I simply cannot bring myself to eat snails. Don't bother telling me how great they are, 'cause it's never going to happen. I ate calamari for the first time in Spain and learned to like other things they had to offer, but I can't eat something that leaves a slime trail.

Have fun with that.

There was a small freshwater fish I ate in Japan that they cooked whole over an open fire on skewers. Guts, bones and all. Squishy, bitter, crunchy, fishy squirting nastiness.

No thanks. I'd rather eat more testicles. And wash 'em down with the cat-poop coffee.

my friend used to throw whole bullheads (not even gutted) into the campfire while fishing and let them cook inside their own thick skin. then eat the meat like he was eating an apple.

he is in jail now after working for 20 years in a meat packing plant then snapping and assaulting most of his family. no one was killed.

Natto.

Can’t get past the smell but my wife and daughter have always loved it. Our son also didn’t eat it but a couple months ago he turned to the dark side. Gonz
