JP of Houston, you're always bidding on the Padrons. You must have quit a few. Where are you located? I'd like to come over and help you smoke a few.LOL I'm in the Jersey Village area. Do you ever make it to "The Smoke Inn"? Barry

Sugar Land Houston Border- Mile west of Hwy 6 & Beachnut
Just building up inventory, actually I usually smoke Connies. Just got back from Chicago & probably gave away 20+ Padrons & Fuentes & I smoked the Connies. What a moron

It's good to hear from a local. I know what you mean about building inventory, I must have 200+ Padrons and have more on the way. Since they are what I have the most of I too am guilty of giving them away. I'll blow some smoke your way Sunday when I'm headed to the Surfsie Jetty for a fishing fix. Barry

You know Husker, there are a few more of us up here in Chicago that you didn't give smokes to and we are hurt. Especially myself, being born and raised in Houston I thought we had a bond. Where's the love man!

I love fishing at the Surfside Jetty, espescially when people hook up on a shark and don't know what to do. That's always a good laugh. I imagine your going for the Drum run BMW?

You should have been at the Marriot on Michigan Ave. last week. We had our annual sales conf. and I'm a marked man with my company when it comes to cigars. I drove up- visited my daughter and her husband who recently moved to Columbia, Mo. on the way. Took a cooler of close to 100 cigars. Came home empty. I hate to admit it but I bought some Backwoods on the way back.

Mr Mean, I've had the pleasure of clearing the beach with large sharks. People just don't realize that they are there most of the time. Actually I'll be scouting my spring Speckled Trout spots on the jetty. Nothing like a good smoke, fishing the jetties, and watching the sun rise. It's Church for me. Barry

Another corner of Sugar Land heard from...I'm at 59 & 90. You know what I meant if I say I do most of my smoking in traffic. We took a group of Boy Scouts on one of the snapper boats out of Galveston a few years back. They had a great time. The talk on the way home, however, was about the hammerhead a guy hooked and fought several times around the boat. Everyone pulled in their lines and someone caught the action on video. We came into the bay with an 8-footer drapped over the wheel house.

That is so cool. Another thing they don't realize is how many Hammerheads are in the Galveston bay. I heard once the average shark count taken from the air (meaning big enough to see from a chopper or plane)around Galveston beaches is 200!

I've been told that San Luis Pass (between Galveston & Freeport)is the most shark infested water in the gulf. For most, ignorance is bliss. Follow some simple Do's & Don'ts and usually no problems. The Black Tips can even be entertaining in the surf.

It's a thrill to be in the water and one of the smaller sandbar sharks gets near the shore and tries to get back out. People sure do get the willies when a baby shark bumps em!

BMW I stopped by the Smokers Inn yesterday for the first time. Pretty nice looking place. Bought a couple of singles & ordered a shirt. I just won a box of Padron 2000's for 67.00- I don't know a place in Houston that sells these for around $100 or more. Same with Fuentes. No wonder people buy online.
