On the CB website description of Pirates Gold there is mention of Rolando Reyes Sr.'s attention to detail; which is true. However, Pirates Gold is not a brand of Reyes Sr. Sr. makes Puros Indios, Cuba Aliados, Genuine, and others. Pirates Gold is made by Rolando Reyes Jr. whose manufacturing has nothing to do with his illustrious father. Jr. Reyes and his father have reportedly not done any kind of business together for many years. It is rumored, regretfully, that they are not on speaking terms. Nevertheless, Pirates Gold is a decent $1.50 cigar. Jr. was hoping to get much more.

Not exactly true. The son owns the trademark and the brand, but Rolando Sr. does indeed make (made) the cigars in Honduras in the same exact factory where he makes Puros Indios, Genuine, etc.

Keith is correct. I made an inquiry and learned that Reyes Sr. made these for Reyes Jr. Reyes Jr. does own the brand. It is rumored that production has ceased, and they are being closed out, but I could not get an authoritative answer if the rumor is correct. My apology for any misinformation that I conveyed. My past experience with Reyes Jr.'s cigars was that they were quite different from Sr.'s Puros Indios, Cuba Aliados, Genuine, and others.

Jr's Roly sucks. All of Sr's smokes are top notch. Never had these Pirate thingys. Rick is mavenizing unsuspecting souls.
