Okay, help me out here. I noticed a bid for a new Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend, with a maduro wrapper. How can they call these things Cameroon Legend if they're not wrapped with a Cameroon wrapper? Maybe the purchasing department bought too many of those bands. Regardless, I'll bet they're tasty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and stating the obvious ... but all Cameroon means is that the wrapper came from Cameroon, a country in Africa.

Maduro leaves are just wrappers that have been aged (fermented or cured) a few years longer.

I don't know for sure, but why couldn't there be a maduro Cameroon wrapper?

I did some checking as I have pondered this myself. Maduro means ripe in spanish. Refers to fermentation by sun exposure or over time. I associate cameroon types with a darker brown shiny wrapper. 5 Vegas for instance. I have seen maduros that looked like a cameroon(maduro excalibur). Then there is the black oscuro. The crappy purple maduros(never smoke one of these). Even knowing the definition it is often hard to identify a wrapper. The manufacturer doesn't always say. So in summation: you can have a cameroon maduro. I suspect it is very dark indeed! I am now curious enough to try one(or 5).

Please allow me to explain. I love these sticks. The maduro cameroon legend cigars have the same blend as the original cameroon legend series, but with a maudoro wrapper from Brazil. More info can be found at the Indian Tabac website. Fisher.

It's not a very dark maduro, much like the cuban maduro's out these days. In fact, it's just a shade darker than the regular cameroon legend's. But boy are they good.

Well now I guess this would make sense. I guess my stupid question was a result of the fact I've only seen Cameroon wrappers along the EMS-shade variety. Maduro Cameroon just didn't sound right to me. I will vow to think outside the box from now on.
