A few years ago on this thread I posted, "my penultimate Donkey Dropping" and received two responses. One, predictably, was, "Why can't you just say 'next to last?'" The other response was a RAOK fiver of DDs. So with no illusions of history repeating itself,

32841: My penultimate Donkey Dropping. 😱

32847 Tatuaje Cabaiguan. Actually pretty good, still a good amount of Tat pepper on retrohale but I'm starting to tolerate that a bit more lately. Gonna mark this for repeat.

32853 Perdomo vintage 1991 esv? Not really sure. A Connie wrapped short rob from the wombats (I think... his cigar trade got tossed in and mixed up before I really noted beyond the casa Fuente) but I looked for a short mild smoke and grabbed this. Pretty good, fit the profile I was seeking.

32861 MUWAT KFC BaitFish size. First time I've really noted the KFC as a dominant flavor. Kinda reminds me of Frogmortan (the only English blend I've liked) this is actually very very good. But its the first of at least a half dozen where that KFC flavor has been, and stayed at the front. Really enjoying this one.

32870 revisiting one of the first cigars that totally disappointed me a year ago when I got into cigars. Was stoked to have one, but found it to be rather flat. Had one in a samplrr from the step-sister site when I grabbed a cheap humidor to gift out.

Dominican Cohiba red dot.

I figured a year has passed, ive got a lot more experience, id try it again and see what's up. Overall opinion is unchanged. At maybe $2-3 I'd grab em for mowing the lawn. Not ssaying its bad, but it's not special as tge price and ads would have you believe. I have a few cigars I saved from when I first started a year ago with the intent to revisit at a year.

Another one year revisit...

32881 Montecristo Media Noche. Didn't much care for it when I first got into cigars. Brother in law (kinda plays along with me in cigar land, but says he prefers "real tobacco" in cigarettes) declared them the best cigar he's ever had. So, I bought a fiver and gave him 4.

At a year, its pretty much as I remembered. I'm thinking I haven't had a change in the way I taste a cigar as my experience progresses, but rather my appreciation of certain characteristics over the ability to identify them.

Time has helped though. Young Maduros to me have a chemical/chlorine note that is absolutely repulsive. I remember noting that on this cigar. Its subsided to a pepper blast on retrohale that slowly subsides to a butter/oil. Predominantly pepper though. Not my favorite flavor...

Ive got two more 1st year noob revisit reviews to go. So far I've not changed my mind on any of em, but ive learned a lot.

If it's the one I sent you, it's a Camacho Corojo Churchill from 2011 which is the old blend from Christian Eiroa and not the new and IMHO inferior Davidoff blend.
