Just curious if anyone knows how/when Drew Estate got involved with the Sportsman Reserve line. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand they have always been a collaboration between Perdomo & Drew. C-bid had been listing them both ways, in fact when I bid there were two seperate listings one for Perdomo and one for Drew. For whatever reason I bid on the Perdomo. Currently I only see them listed by Drew, Why I don't know. Maybe Keith could shed some light.

They 'were' a joint venture between the two manufacturers about 4-5 years ago ... and if I'm not mistaken, was a one time deal.

They are discontinued, and are no longer being made. Being made by both maufacturers, either name can be used to promote them. Since Drew Estates has a cult following at this site, it was good marketing sense to use their name. Look how much higher the bids have gone since they switched from using Perdomo ...

Now Slim, you know better than to mention ANYTHING about high bids. Shame on you!...LOL! BTW, I've noticed the same.

I admit it, I admit it, I did it!
I am a huge fan of Drew Estate, based on my love of their somkes I tried Sportsmans Reserve... and I LOVE THEM! First looking at them I thought it would be too powerful a smoke for me, but it was smooth and enjoyable. Now they can go back to listing them as Perdomo so I can get them cheaper!

Sknit, have you tried the D.E. Clean Robusto? If so, how would you compare the Sportsmans Reserve to it? I am a huge fan of the Clean Robusto and have been thinking about trying the Sportsmans.

Sorry, I haven't... I am rather new to cigars as a whole... Started smoking Cubans last year while in Saudi Arabia, then got hooked on Acids and others from Drew Estate.
I am sampling others when I see a good deal on here just to see what is out there, but I am probably not the best benchmark. I DO know what I like though and I think the Sportsmans Reserve are worth a try! (Just don't out bid ME!) ;-)

10-4, mental note "don't bid if it's sk". I just got a few Sportsmans and Industrial Press yesterday. I'll be test driving tonight. I'm a rookie too but have managed to cover about a dozen different Naturals and ACIDs among others. I highly recommend the Natural Clean Robusto if you can find it. It had great flavor and my non-smoking friends actually liked the smell.
