Would appreciate some suggestions of good medium to full flavor Maduros. I have tried a few so far (El Meyor, Montegue); but would like to broaden my horizons. I prefer those that have some flavor to them.

Thinking about the Perdomo Reserve for my next purchase, or maybe the Bohemian. Cupido Criollo is a maybe 2. Thx all for any feedback.

Give El Rey Del Mundo's a try.... they are really good. Also the La Gloria Cubana Wavel Maduro is one of my maduro favorites. You really can't go wrong with the Perdomo's either IMHO. Probably my FAVORITE little maduro smoke is the Cuesta Rey Centennario (SP?) #7 Robusto Maduro. Its a great little cigar thats full of great medium flavor and lots of complexity.
Smoke 'em if you got 'em--------- Tony

Seems weird to respond to a post this early; but hey I cant fall back asleep.

Are the El Rey Del Mundo's more spicey then smokey? I don't really like spicy (I have had some spicey ones and they don't agree with my palette)

Spicy is usually associated with Rosado wrappers, though there are some exceptions.

Try a Mayorga Gordito Maduro Torpedo or the Parejo High Octane.

No the ERDM are not spicy. For medium body not too spicy, do the LGC Wavell's, the Mayorga's, ERDM, or hunt you down some Cupido Toro Negro's.

Ditto on the La Gloria Cubana Wavell maduros, one of the most consistently great gars on planet earth. I also like the Cupido line, especially, so far, the Campana, but I am working my way thru the rest of the line. Neither would be called spicey, IMO.

Ditto on the Mayorga maduros - good flavor and not strong. IMHO the Mayorga Hi-Octanes have a pretty good kick, though. (Thanks, Mean! I got a little buzz off my 1st H-O). Nice flavor, but not what you'd want unless you're looking for kick. LGC Wavell maduros, one of my favorites, also have a little strength. Here's my suggestion for a great-flavored maduro with no bite and little spice -- Macanudo Maduro. No joke! Also try an Onyx Reserve - another favorite! Go for Mac Maduros and Mayorga maduros.

The Mac Maduros are really a good cigar, but Mayorga Maduro and LaGloria Serie R Maduros, Onyx Reserve Maduros, and Partegas Black Label are all very good and complex cigars and you cannot go wrong with any of them!!! Just a matter of which one you like best! I prefer ring gauges of 50 plus and this is even more so in Maduros>>>>>Enjoy and keep passing along suggestions! Charlie

Try an El Rey Del Mundo 'Flor de Llaneza' in maduro. It's a big torpedo smoke that can be bought in boxes of 35 ($180.) or singly ($7.00) and for my money is one of the best smokes rolled anywhere.

You can't go wrong with the Perdomo Reserve maduro: very flavorful. I would also recommend the La Perla Habana and the Avo maduro. The Avo is mild to medium strength, but excellent, chocolatey flavor.

Damn... just drooled all over the keyboard.

The Padrons are great! A little spice there though. A couple hardcore maduros that taste like dirt to me (i imagine)are Diesel Crude and Cabana Royale. Especially the Cabana. Black as night, hard as a tentpeg. Really strong.

usahog, you are 100% on the money on the padron maduros. you can't get a better stick for the money unless you go to the anniversario, then you're talking big bucks.

In general I don't like maduros, but there are a couple that I enjoy. Padron maduros are all good (Of course the Anniversarios are best, but ouch! they kill your wallet). The Felipe Gregorio Black Suntuoso, the Indian Tabac Maduro Boxer and the El Rey del Mundo Robusto Oscuro are also good maduros.

My absolute favorite maduro is the Leon Jimenes Maduro. I especially like the Toro. Brazilian wrapper, rich taste, smooth even burn. I haven't found a maduro I like better. Check it out!

I didn't care for maduros until I smoked a Partagas maduro. I had tried Onyx, Mayorga and Don Diego earlier and didn't care for them. Now I've got a whole selection on the way, including an AVO, which I've never tried, and Padron, which I never tried in maduro. Thanks to this thread, I've got a fair idea of what to look for.

Though I'd go back to the aelriest post ot wrap up , IMHO, my recommendation. Best: Padron, Partagas, Ashton, AVO, in that order. Good: Macanudo and Arturo Fuente Worst: Onyx, Mayorga and Don Diego

A great all around maduro is the La Rosa Especial, my everyday smoke. If you want to go cheaper, you can't beat the Diesel. If you want to spend some money, the very best maduro I've ever had is the Leon Jimenes. This is a truly great cigar.

Will wait till the weekend to try the 4000 jazz. I am not sure if it is considered a maduro or not but I just tried the Partagas Black, and I was not impressed. 3 times I had to relight it, and the only time it tasted like a real gar was half-way thru. While I am still a novice, I would not recommend it to my buddies, or even to all youse.

After smoking two Black Label pyramids over the past month, I've added these to my weekend smokes. It's a beautiful, big ring smoke with a great ash. I really like the Partagas line and this is one of their best. It really doesn't compare to a Partagas maduro, which I find sweeter. (I prefer the Padron maduro, which is not as sweet.) The Black Label has a full, up front flavor you can get your thoughts around. I agree it's packe well and might be hard to keep lit. Each one I tried had a nice, red cone when I knocked the ash off. My only complaint is that they are too strong to smoke well on a re-light.
