When I was a kid my dad made a banjo/gituar out of an empty cigar box, rubber bands stretched over a hole in the lid tied to a yard stick. I guess he was trying to find a use for the box once all the smokes were gone. Now I have the same problem. What do you guys do with your empties? I

mhollowa: pick out a nice colorful one. go to a craft store and buy a small battery clock movement. drill a holl to clear the clock shaft in the center of the box. if the clock hands are gold, spray them flat black. mount the clock and a hanger on back and hang it on the wall. make a dozen or so for christmas or birthday gifts. a decent size wooden box can be made into a purse. I wish I would have known RICKAMAVEN with all his great suggestions for empty cigar boxes before I starting building my house with them also.

I knew it. All you goofs are revering a man who walks around with a cigar box purse. What's this world coming too.

I never have empties. I am always getting more smokes, and I use the boxes to age my cigars in my coolordor. Just when I think that I am about to empty a box, I get another shipment of 5 packs and they have to go somewhere for aging.

At first, I gave them to a local cub scout troop for crafts projects. I guess that now the scouts don't want them, being evil tobacco-related and all---so I give them to my mother-in-law, who loves to get them. God only knows what she does with them, but I'm expecting a cigar box clock for Christmas this year. Or maybe a purse.

Add a couple wood separations, a bit of elastic here and there... 2 shot glasses and a few minatures of good Scotch and you have yourself a nice smokers travel smokers bar. Keep one at the office, in the car, etc. Also, good for work stuff... pens, paperclips, rolaids.

I use them for old bills and Recipts.
Also for my kids various card collections.
Just about any little junk, pens, paperclips etc.
