I laugh to see the starting bid for these sticks! Has anyone ever found one for the lowest start? I never have. Just thought it was BS. However, do not get me wrong. These are the best prices anywhere!

You must have blinked. Starting bids last about as long as a handshake between the Bill Clinton and Bill Bennett.

Actually, I've WON bids at the starting price, although I must say, I lived to regret those ... stuff with actual value tends to get bid on pretty doggone quickly with some stuff even rising beyond all sensibility. However, most eventual winning bids are, as you observe, pretty good values.

I bit on that video, too. The Victor Sinclair sports video, right? I got it over a year ago - I have yet to watch it! Is it "must see"?

The only thing I'm "lucky" enough to get at or near the starting price are the unknowns-often to me as well. I'll usually try something in a 5 pack if it's the shape, size, and wrapper I like, esp. when they're less than $2 a stick. Of course, about the time I figure out they're a bargain, so do the rest of you and the price goes up.

On standard favorites (of mine anyway) like CAO's and ONYX's, it's hard to get them for anywhere near the starting bid price, but, they're still cheaper than anywhere else usually. I often bounce bid prices against cigar discouters such as jrcigars to see if they're still real enough to bid on.

Rick, I think he's talking about "Tied" Sticks. I know some other people that fell for that in the 60's. "Tied Sticks" - a.k.a. a bundle of fire wood.

Yes, you are right! If you are able to read the code correctly you can find lots where they are selling real, dipped, Tye sticks. It is kinda hard sometimes though to tell the real ones from the fakes!

Anyone remember Thai-dyed shirts? Never had one of the sticks, though. Is it more like a chopstick or a wokking cane? BTW, what's this thread about?

Rick: I will not make excuses for my mathamatical mistake however in all honesty I must say there are extenuating circumstances 1. I was sober when I replied to the thread, 2. I am a product of the Philadelphia school system which has just been taken over by the state of Pennsylvania because of low math grades, 3. My math teacher always had boogers hanging from her nose, 4. When it was my time to do a problem on the blackboard the only thing left to write with was charcoal, How many does that make at least eleven? And finally tailgater always picks on my Philadelphia sports teams. JonR
