They are neither good, nor especially bad. For the same money, there are many better cigars you could get.

Dog rockets ... period. On e of the nastiest cigars I've ever smoked. I gave one to my brother when we we out fishing, and no kidding, a quarter way through it, he hurled over the side of the boat ...

This is a joke post, right? Whether merely bad or truly awful, the Lone Wolf is the poster gar for dog rockets, the one which every bad cigar is compared to. A joint venture by Chuck Norris and Jim Belushi. Belushi, who smokes 10 cigars a day, will not smoke a Lone Wolf.

I use them to keep raccoons away from the garbage cans at night.

do a search of the forums on "Lone Wolf" and you'll probably find 400 or more posts that have them mentioned, and not one of them is in a good way. But for some reason people are always bidding on the things...

The people that make lone wolf should be made to stand ten feet in front of the Kentucky Derby starting gate two seconds before the race starts! LOl JonR

Better than that ... they should be forced to smoke them.

Fortunately ... they are no longer in production.

When they first appeared about 8 years ago, it was a nice cigar. It received some nice ratings from Cigar Aff. Tried them when they were introduced but were priced at about $6 and I wasn't impressed enough to buy any more. Bought some a couple of years ago and it didn't resemble what I tried initially. In fact, I only smoked one, kept the rest in the 'dor for a while and ended up giving them away to people who don't know a swisher sweet from a monte. (they preferred the swisher, I don't blame them) The Lone Wolf's are terrible. Not worth the shipping cost.

daveyg2, I'll try to be helpfull. I've only tried the robusto which was rated by Cigar Aficianado much lower than the other cigars. The cigar is well constructed with a good draw and attractive color. Its flavor is straighforward with balanced bouquet that has some similarities to other very expensive cigars. I would suggest that it is something like Romeo & Juliet but, but, but ... Lone Wolf has very, very little flavor. It is an exceptionally weak tasting cigar. I tried smoking it at various times of the day but could never get more out of it than a shadow of smoke. If you like mild cigars you might connect well with it.
