Wild wild west! Jim West was a can do guy. And he always got the girl. Great gadgets too. The movie was a travesty! I also liked the 60s western Laredo. It was formulaic(fancy guy, tough guy, funny guy)but entertaining as could be! Love American Style. Funny show, pretty girls.

The Uncle Floyd Show (out of East Orange, NJ IIRC) -- was supposed to be for small kids, but in the 'right frame of mind' it was hillarious to teenagers as well. Also Bullwinkle (a true classic) and HR Puffenstuff (sp?). Yep', I was into total escapism in those distant foggy days -- seems like another lifetime now that I'm pushing 43, having long ago shouldered all the responsibilities of a respectable citizen :)

I liked the old Buck Rogers with Buster Crabb running around with a band uniform top and all that over acting, what a hoot. Here's another one I just remembered, the Rocketman and Superman serials at the movie theaters. Man,I loved those. They would always end it with a cliffhanger scene to keep U comming back to see what happened. Rick and Eleltea should remember these. X

McHale's Navy! And has anyone mentioned Baa-Baa-Blacksheep? Oh Robert Conrad, come on, knock THIS off my shoulder...I dare you! I loved BBB, but remember that lame battery commercial he did? Maybe we need to direct this thread to commercials now? The good, the bad, the unforgetable ones!

Nope...but sure loved him as Jim West! I have an in-law that is a character actor. He was on 100's of shows/movies mainly in the 60's-80's like Wild Wild West, Gun Smoke, Star Trek, Mash, Night Court, stuff like that. But he's best known as the used carsalesman in the movie Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory...how 'bout a little trivia guys? Name my sister-in-law's dad...

Steve's the weiner! And X, you're just one of my fav guys! I LOVE your humor! Lenny's a great guy too! We play PIG together as often as possible (dice/gambling game) and he just had us over for some nice filet mignon last week. I consider him and his wife Carole, my second parents...everyone needs a Jewish mother and father to worry about them, right?

For you L.A. folks in the early 70's. Who remembers on local late night T.V. show called Seymor and the slimey wall? Mystery science theater 3000 owes its existance to this show. Please don't let me know that I'm the only one.

Rick, for the record they televised a MLB game in 1939 so there probably was such an invention as "picture show in a box" and just like in the movie "Avalon" people probably went to the store windows to watch the shows! Also in "Forrest Gump" they showed that kind of a scene! I am smoking a LaGloria Serie R as I enter this! Charlie

the most memorable commercial I remember was one from the time in which much of TV, including the commercials, was done live ... Loretta Young was demonstrating a refrigerator and after opening the door and showing the interior of the 'fridge, she closed it and began to move away, unaware that her skirt had been closed in the door ... she handled it well, but was brought up about as short as my dog is when we're out for a walk and she jumps to chase a squirrel or a cat ...

Anyone remember Route 66 with George Maharis(sp?) and a red corvette? About 10 years later there was a similar show with one guy and a motercycle, I forget who and the name of the show. Lots of other favorites listed above. For younger than teens, does anyone remember Mighty Mouse? Good commercials - most alka seltzer commercials from the late 60's early 70's (specy, spicy meatballs and such). Bad commercials, don't remember. Barry
