Hey, Racing season is coming soon here in Del Mar...haven't gone for a few seasons...anyone into it? I just like to play the horses on a whim, nothing serious.

Forgot to say that any animal rights activists out there can keep their comments to themselves and kiss my horse's a$$!

Hey there, let me know if you plan on visiting Del Mar in person...I'm hoping to see Tim Conway there! A family member of mine grew up in Encino and is best friends with one of his kids...I just love seeing stars...hehehe, Slimboli would love it if I saw stars, right?

Bing would be happy to see us, but Bob (Hope) would be happier seeing as he smoked stogies. Won't have Chris McCarron to bet on anymore (BUMMER). Sounds like fun "where the surf meets the turf."

:) I love opening day. My niece (well, she over 30) always enters the HAT CONTEST...and usually wins something too. One year it was cash, dinner and a hotel stay. Her hat that year was made of paper maiche (sp?) in the shape of a horse's head & neck. It had a winner's adornment of fresh roses strung around the neck...very cool looking. She's an artist...

It seems that every year in most sports, there are less of the good guys and more of the incompetent guys...it's a shame.

Anyone made it to the track yet? I STILL haven't, but have been stuck in the traffic jams around it :( several times.

The 25th is gonna be big...what's that horses name? I hate these brainfarts...

I think we'll have to go for that day...

Never been to Del Mar but we have a nearby track. I go on 50 cent Fridays. Beer, soft drinks, hotdogs, entrance fee, program for 50 cents each. Bet a whopping $2.00 a race. Best part is you can smoke outside and in the bleachers. Lotsa fun for the entire family. They have face painting and other activities for the kids.

there is a great parrot place right past the entrance to del mar. it is called "free flight". it is where people board their birds for short or long periods of time. no admission cost. there are probably 100 large parrots all outside on perchas so that you can go to them and usually pet them since they are all pets.

every time i want to go to australia to see the birds, i go to free flight instead. so much closer.

and than there is filipe's in san diego on india street in the industrial section of town. i'm sure you have had their pizza. if not, shame on you.

RICK: Never noticed the Free Flight place before...will have to check it out. Thanks.

And, whachyou talkin' bout Willis? Where did that whole Filippi's thing come from? Are you craving Italian food?

I've indeed been to Little Italy on Idia St. numerous times. Can't find a bad restaurant on the block. Filippi's Pizza Grotto has 8 locations around SD county.
