We all have had to see them when the wife says, "rent something I will like"! Or "How about a nice movie that isn't a thriller or shoot em up"! It is hard to name a few, but I am going to try and do so:
1. "As Good as it Gets", "When Harry Met Sally", "Michael", "Sleepless in Seattle" and one that the guys should like would be "For Love of the Game"! In honor of this post I will smoke something light, like a Macanudo Portifino (if I can find one)!

I thought of "As Good As It Gets" immediately when I saw the title of your post ... for a chick-flick, that one really IS as good as they get, IMNSHO ...

I have a copy of "The Hot Spot". I even bought the soundtrack. That movie is indeed a feast for the eyes.

That's the other kind of "chick flick". Back to the original question, I'd have to say "Life as a House" was a good movie. Why is it when we guys say we'll "compromise" on a show we somehow always end up in a chick flick? The latest show I saw with my wife - "About a Boy". I think it's time for "Minority Report" or "Bourne Identity".

If you read the original post, I am not advocating the "Chick Flick" genre or posting in favor of the queen of these things, Julia Roberts! I think she must be one big pain in the ass to the guys who get into relationships with her and she sure does come off as a prime bitch when on TV or being interviewed! Just a type of movie, we all have to view to keep the other side of our relationships happy! God, I saw "I am Sam" last night............really a boring flick! I am sure there are those here who loved it, but nobody went to see this bomb at the box office and I can certainly see why they stayed away! Now it is time for manly, action movies like "Zulu", "BlackHawk Down", "Terminator", etc! Charlie

When I was a young boy I saw the movie Labyrinth and fell in love with Jennifer Connely.

A good chick flick is there such a thing? I would have to say My Best Friends Wedding which had Julia Roberts and Carmen Diez. It was actually kind of funny.

My vote for WORST chick flick goes to "Hanging Up" with Meg Ryan.

Speaking of chick flicks I told my wife you can tell them because they all have this certain part which I call "The Chick Flick Moment". There is no dialog during this part just music and it usually adds absolutley nothing to the movie except time. It usually involves a lot of giggling. Watch any chick flick and see if you can find "The Moment".

Charlie, if you liked Zulu (a classic) you should also see "Zulu Dawn". A couple of similarly themed movies are "Mountains Of The Moon" and "Khartoum".

The extra hh is just a throwback to an old email address. Seems there are other Trishes out there. Can you believe THAT??
