first, I woke up late this morning and was late to work as a result ... nothing going on here anyway ... open CB and nothing much here either ... did everyone sleep in, or ?? .... second, it seems to me there's at least a partial solution to all the posts that are ending up in the wrong forum ... Gonz, if you didn't sleep in like the rest of us and you're reading this, why not make the "select forum" drop-down be blank, rather than defaulting to "Cigars & Related", and selecting forum mandatory before post could be made? It wouldn't stop someone from making a bad choice, but it would prevent someone who was LOOKING at the trades board, creating a new thread and somehow not noticing that "select forum" was where he was going ... think you could arrange that?

just re-read my post ... obviously am still not awake, am I? ... I meant to say that if forced to make a choice, a person could not be looking at trades, but make a post to cigars & related in error by failing to notice that the choice of forum defaults to one he does not intend to post to ... it's an easy mistake to make (hell, I know I did it once too), but a lot of that could be cured by having the drop-down be blank or read "None" and not let someone post until a selection had been made .... easy change for our esteemed Webmaster to make, and one that would probably eliminate 90% of Slim's aggravations ...

Steve ... instead of hitting the button in the upper left hand corner (that says, 'post a new thread'), which will default to 'Cigars & Related' no matter what forum you are visiting (you then have to make a conscious effort to change it) ...

... click the one above the 'date' on the right hand side. If you are in 'Trades', you will automatically post to 'Trades' ... and so on.

Thanks, Slim … that’s good for me and for anyone else reading this to know (and I didn’t know) ... however, to some extent, you’re preaching to the choir here and those who need it most won’t be aware of it ... ergo, there will continue to be a stream of trade offers on the cigars & related forum ... however, if the drop-down were fixed (and it’s a pretty simple thing for CB to fix) as I suggested, a newbie wouldn’t have to be possessed of that bit of knowledge ... by being forced to make a conscious decision about where their post belonged, they might be more prone to posting trade offers in the trades forum ... just a thought, I’m not on a crusade here ... in some respects, it's more fun as is, since we all get to be entertained by your reactions to misposted trade offers ... lol

I think there should also be a "Humor Mill" and other places for "Other" subjects...heck, maybe even some MORE females would post if there was an "Adult" section...naw, but just a thought for the day...
