Not sure if anyone here is interested but I found a site that sells 4" cedar matches. They are a bit pricey ($2.95/box) but what the heck. xxx

It never seems to end, does it? It's prety sobering to think that many of the vehicles being driven at high speed around you on the highway are being driven by people who aren't really paying full attention either ...

Ya you mentioned a competators website. Now you are required by law to send all the people you offended a box of those matches. We have your info so get them boxed up.
I have a related question. Will it be safe to use one of those torch lighters to light my pipe? It works on cigars, I can light one from about 3 feet away. It puts out a really hot blue flame. Looks more like something used to solder my muffler back in place.

NO, you just upset the board police! I like cedar matches myself, but really any wooden match will work, and if I really want a light, Zippo or Promethius either one do the trick! Charlie

No ... he didn't upset the 'board police'. He broke a written rule, as stated in the guidelines set forth by the owners of this site.

I'm sure once it is discovered ... the URL will be deleted.

Sorry to have rocked the Humidor!! I would be happy to buy my matches from CB if they would sell them, then they could be classified as a comepetitor of the site which I will never mention along with any others, ever, ever, ever again!! :>)......I just thought that some people would appreciate the info. I honestly never gave it a thought. My Bad :>)

Thanks for correcting me, I read the rules and you are completely correct. Rules are like the directions in the bike box to me, I don't read em till I'm stuck. Sorry again guys!

I am a purist and I prefer cedar matches......finding them is a pain though.

I'm sure a torch lighter is just as good but I like the whole experience of firing up a good stick, savoring it, and then devouring it!

Slim, first choice would be wooden matches, second choice of light a Promethius, third, before rubbing sticks together or praying for a bramble bush to use, would be the trusty Zippo! It has a set of Naval Aviator Wings on it and I would use the afterburner from an F14 if I had to! Any light in a storm! Charlie

I don't really "GET" the NO URL rule here. --- CI has pretty darned good prices of their own and its not like we can't find the competitors with a search for "CIGAR" on any search engine on the planet. --- Personally, I don't think CI or this site has anything to worry about with people listing other URLs for things these guys don't carry. (remember Miracle on 34th Street?) if anything, it reinforces the notion that they are confident that they offer the best values. --- My two beans on the subject.

What's there to get? This is CI/CB's place of business, not just another BB ...

Their forums are for their customers (hence the credit card in order to post) who shop/bid at their store. Allowing folks to rampantly post and discuss competitors who may have better prices, would be buisness suicide.

It's a free country what you do on your own time, and you would be foolish not to research before you buy. That's your right ... but, the management is also excercising their right (as owners of the buisness) to ask that it not be done in their house.

vf41266 ---go to a lumber yard and get a foot of ceder 1" by 1".---- light it with you lighter (never a zippo like charlie the petroleum sniffer) and use it to light your cigar.---- it can be used more than once.

Rick ... what's so hard about [br][br] to start a new line?

Of course, you replace the brackets with the 'sideway' V's (lesser than and greater than symbols) ...

Rick,
Is that what they call a Cedar Spill? I've been meaning to try that. Thanks for the tip.

...it tough to get cedar matches. First the grain runs so thin that an edge match is practically impossible and jumps out when you apply any kind of stain. Sometimes you can flip the ends and run the one edge way from another. That works well for contrast but it's not good for a match...huh, oh. Sorry, I missed that one too. I've got to learn to keep up.

vf,

Consider your thread officially hi-jacked!

Back closer to the subject - do some of you really go buy cedar and just fire 'em up like matches?
