My first reaction is "yes" ... get him ... but the reason GeoTheElder did not do so during the Gulf War (although I understand he now regrets his decision) is exactly what Davy suggests ... Saddam's nuts, but he is a PREDICTABLE nut ... and to the extent that we are able to control/manipulate him, he's a preferable nut to someone like the AyatollaCockamaimie ... that is to say, a much further-out nut ... additionally, of course, there's the little problem of what the neighbors will think ... ALL the neighbors, not just those in Iran's part of the world ... we may be the Big Dog on the world block right now, but the very reason we're so disliked in so many parts of the world is our tendency to impose our views of how things ought to be on others, irrespective of THEIR views ... it's a bit of a sticky wicket, as the Brits say, but on the whole, given the trouble this sumbitch has already stirred up and his potential for more (including his support of terrorists such as Osama), I think it's time to say goodbye to Saddam ...
