Has anyone here tried this coffee. It sounds interesting ...

Kopi Luwak sells for $75 per quarter pound. This seems an unimaginably high price for a quarter pound of coffee but it’s the special "Processing" that makes it so incredibly rare.

For $75 per 1/4 pound, I'll do the processing! Is this a joke?

must have some other (questionably legal)ingredients to help drinkers have a better day, either that or the Columbian drug trade has been seriously injured / effected by the 'war on drugs,' and they're trying to make up the losses in their coffee beans.

after reading the information, i think i'll stick with good old Costco brand coffee, to which i'll add a few table spoons of cocoa, and drink while smoking one of my favorite cigars --- that should just about measure to the qualities of Kopi Luwak and best part, it'll cost me about 1/10th as much.

Cliff ... this is no joke. There are a few other sites that sell this, if you can find it in stock. I know of no one personally who has tried this ... but several who are willing to try it. I just can't justify the cost ... but would be willing to try it if I had the opportunity. Heck ... I'll try anything (within reason) once ...

Slim why don't you just feed some Jamaican Blue Mountain green beans to your cat for a few days and let us know how it turns out or maybe Gus. BTW don't bother sending me any fresh roast coffee from now on. OK!

There's a guy behind the Stop N Go on 34th st. I don't think he sells coffee though. Cool old man to talk to.

I've heard of a very expensive coffee that has a very unusual way of processing the bean. Evidently, the bean is ingested by an animal and passed through its digestive tract and retrieved from the fecus, then roasted. It was on "Ripley's Believe it or Not". I don't know if what I described is Kopi Luwak, but I'd find out before you buy!

I've also heard of this coffee, being a java nut myself. But, as Slim stated above, the cost is outrageous. But I've gotta ask: Who was the first person to try this, and how desperate were they for their morning caffeine buzz?
