A tip to the newbies: when you get a box of cigars, bust out a couple and try them RIGHT AWAY. I have smoked all of the Cupido Criollos and liked them a lot. Nice taste, well constructed. I had good luck with the toro negros. I splurged and bought a box of the Capitans. Came in a numbered box marked "vintage reserve 1998". Must be good, right? I have smoked 5 of these and every one has canoed, tunneled or done some other nasty thing to wreck the smoke. I know I could have returned them if I had checked them out sooner. No hard feelings, but these are not good. Did I get a bad roller or what? What causes a tunnel? A chunk of stem?

Xrun, dry box them for a couple a days. See if that helps,or store them at a lower humidity. X

I'm finishing up a box I've had for about 7 months and I've found the wrappers to be very delicate, but all of them burned fine.

Hmmm, maybe the outside is wetter than the inside? Could be. They start out nice, good potential, then quickly go bad. My digital says 72%. Some cigars do smoke better dry. I have segregated a couple in a dry box. More later.

Ok, I smoked one of the dry ones. I had a small tunnel up the center. Didn't really affect the taste. These babies are rolled tight but have a good draw. Maybe because of that they need much longer to completely acclimate. I had a nice long ash today. I may have a storage problem too. I recently had to replace my humidifier. Cigars were a little dry and must have really sucked up the moisture. Most are smoking fine though. I guess I will let the Cupidos rest for a good long time. I think they are pretty good smokes but need some TLC. Good call xib'
