Long time lurker and bidder...first post. I got a CI cat. in the mail today. Finally had a chance to look at one before my wife had a chance to heave it. List price for one of those goofy looking Egg's was $9.95.
I logged on to the site and guys were bidding up to 12 bucks for the same thing. I believe in capitolism, but come on guys WAKE UP!

Yeah, if it's junk mail...I do the same for her. I'm not whining about overbidding. People are intitaled to do whatever they wish iwth their money.

Ya, I brought the EGG thing up last month. The only thing I can figure is the shipping on this site is cheaper than the catalog.(for 1 item) So it would break even. I didn't get my catalog this month so I can't verify that.:( I would try one of those for $5.00.
This stuff goes in cycles. Many of the staples here are up this week. Maybe everyone got paid.

It could be that they won some other bids are bidding on other items since they have to pay the postage anyway. And with the economies of scale working in their favor they may be more likely to pay a little more for something that they want. It may be cheaper to buy an underpriced item and an overpriced item and pay one shipping then to buy them separately and pay two shipping costs.

Then again maybe they are just in the dark.

oh, btw Jold ... welcome to you ... I failed to mention earlier that as a newcomer, you will be required to send each of us a cigar ... you may choose which cigar to send, but you'll want to know, we will form our opinions of you based on your selection ... speaking for myself, I prefer a full-bodied cigar, something in a nice maduro will do nicely ... thanks, and again ... welcome

Thanks ... I think that both Rembrandt and van Gogh were good, but Vermeer and Mondriaan were better ...

You compare dutch masters to impressionist pioneers? I always thought you were a freak, but now I know.

Hey what in the world is wrong with an occassional Dutch Master? Barf, whoops, sorry, every now and then any port in a storm will have to do! And let CBid make a buck or two on the uninformed, the lots are reloaded and you live to bid another day! Quit whining and mewling about overbidders and just let them pay and bid another day! Charlie
